What would you wear if you were a guest speaker?

An opportunity has come up to be a guest speaker at an IT conference.

What on earth do I wear?

I’m 5’10”, size 12

I love white trainers and I’ll be moving around in a stage so they might work.

Any ideas?

You’ve been invited to speak not to catwalk so they want you for your brain and influence - not your sense of style. So, with that in mind why not wear something which is really ‘you’ and something you feel fabulous in! Enjoy the limelight! 😃

@HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime yes like a Ted talk so a good idea to watch a few

loving the white shirt grey trouser combo @Midnights

i do think it needs to be a muted palette

Sorry to be boring but I would go plain as plain especially if it’s a presentation. Zingy colours and patterns, especially large ones, can be distracting.

Is there a dress code? If you love white trainers, I'd pair them with a pair of grey suit pants (either tailored and slightly cropped, or wide legged and floor grazing but not in between) and a tuck in top (something like a coloured silk blouse) like these perhaps?

No idea but is it a similar event as Ted Talks? Maybe watch a few of those with women in your age range and see if any particular style catches your eye.

Bright coloured suit (Zara has lots) plus your white trainers?
