What are the top five most worn items in your wardrobe?

For the last couple of years I've been committed to spending most of my clothes budget on items that get the most everyday wear. Today I was trying to work out which things get worn on an almost daily basis and whether I've been successful in investing my money in the right places.

At the moment (in the middle of Australian winter!) my five most frequently worn items are:

Black cashmere crew neck jumper
Black duck down parka
High waisted slim-fitting blue jeans
Black leather ankle boots
Slouchy black leather tote bag

They aren't necessarily my favourite items or the ones I think are the most stylish, but they're the ones that are getting down to pennies per wear!

What are yours?

In Aus winter here too, and also WFH, so not much variation in clothing!

Most days:

High waisted yoga pants (x2 different lengths) - Yoga Matters.
Long sleeve striped t-shirt (x2 in black and dark blue) - Sea Salt
Long cardigan cotton/silk mix (x2 navy and grey) - Woolovers
Any socks! Ideally colour co-ordinating with the rest of my outfit Grin
Sketchers trainers for walks during lunch and before dinner.

Depending on the weather, I will almost certainly be wearing a combination of these items, with seasonal tweaks.

Annette Goertz jeans, or leggings for exercise, or shorts
Andia Fora ankle boots, or trainers, or Rieker walking sandals (a bit like Tevas)
Uniqlo henley t-shirts
Uniqlo/M&S cashmere v-neck sweaters
Cheap cross-body bag with multicolour strap

Astonishingly, people want me to take them shopping.

PS Pure I buy on sale which they have very often.

MaryLennox I have a few from Pure and a few from various more expensive brands bought at a discount on BrandAlley or in TK

I machine wash at 20 and yes they do bobble a bit. I have learned to avoid the loose knit/gauzy ones as they bobble far worse and I have an electric bobble shaver.

Where do people buy their cashmere jumpers? I find the cheap ones go bobbly and I can’t afford the expensive ones. Also, do you wash yours?

Trainers (New balance, I replace them as they wear out)
Skinny jeans (Joe’s)
Handbag (I use the same one all the time, cross body Kate Spade)
Joules hooded gilet (lived in it all winter)
Cashmere jumper - slightly cheating as I don’t wear the same one all the time but have 5/6 on rotation throughout winter and chillier spring/autumn days.

I really ought to wear dresses and skirts more...

I've got a loose fit crepe midi dress with pockets which I must have worn 100 times in the past 3 years since I bought it. Starting to get a bit bobbly now!

Other items:
Stan Smith trainers
M&S thermal long sleeve top (not in summer usually but every day in colder weather)
Mom jeans
Striped crop t shirt

Also, on the subject of Hush, favourite t shirt is from there. I got it last year in their summer sale and it's been spilt on many times, tumble dried, washed accidentally at 60° etc and it's still great. I think I must have been fairly lucky with Hush. The only other thing I've had from there has been joggers and harems, which I bought, tried on and sent back as I couldn't see why they were so pricey. Think they suit people who are a different shape to me better.

I'm always surprised by how frequently Hush is raved about on here. I've got a couple of things from there:
Cotton jackets in khaki and camo = absolutely brilliant and worth every penny
Joggers = crazy print so I got them very cheap and I like them for lounging in. I'd like some black ones but just can't being myself to pay £50 for them.
Tube skirts = great
A lot of their stuff is horrible fabric/poor quality though and seems very overpriced.

Lots of Hush.
There was thread a couple of months ago about whether people /organisations who have their own agenda product place this goods into the conversation.
Hush was suggested several times.
I'm not saying it's happening here. It's just a name I've noticed more now its bee pointed out!

Lots of Hush.

The only item I bought there (a long grey csrdi) fell apart after one wearShock.

Couldn't believe it. Never buy anything there now.

@LavenderHills I agree and am slowly introducing quality over quantity and making sure I have good staple pieces which I can justify spending a little more on! Grin
