I know this has been done before, but I want to sort my bikini-line out, but think the pain of waxing could be unbearable. Is it really bad, what tips do you do to reduce pain, and what are the alternative??? TiA xx

Waxing is v painful and the deal breaker for me is that I get ingrowing hairs this way.

well I have a hollywood wax (thats everything down below and I mean everything) - yup eye watering but so worth it nice and smooth and clean and regrowth slower and finer (as long as you exfoliate) - "tuck it in your bikini" WTF groooossss

This brings back hysterical memories of the thread a few weeks ago about people who let their partners trim down below for them.

just dont get DH to go near that area once teething gel applied, things may go a little numb!

Am liking the teething gel idea. Sounds perfect.

A friend of mine swears by applying teething gel or any other product with similar effects. She is a beautician and even uses it on her eye brows before plucking.

Don't use an epilator. Trust me. I did years and years ago and I have never known pain like it. I screamed. I can still remember the hair ripping pain.

oh dear, I would just snip off the extraneous hairs (if they bother you - just do a short back and sides so to speak) and tuck the rest into the costume.

Anything else is bound to cause Pain and/or Irritation and horrendous Regrowth .

Go au naturel!

I tried the wax strips at home and will never do it again..... I was bleeding and sore for days afterwards.

Sorry about the hijack but are there salons that use hot wax, the one that's reused, just filtered to remove the hairs? I had the feeling that because it doesn't sound so hygienic it wasn't done anymore.

It's much less painful and efficient but maybe not so safe considering some people bleed?

uuuuhh that's almost as gory! has he allowed you to do it again? or did you do it on purpose as an act of revenge for all his shortcomings? (I have poisined mine once with a cream pasta souce! )

jenwa · 28/05/2007 23:05

PippiLangstrump - oooohhhh, ouch! Yeh think it can put you off doing it! I trained in it so felt bit more confident but still hurts a bit as easier when someone else does it! I did dh chest and he was red raw afterwards and I drew blood! I admit I never did it on him very well and had never done a chest wax!

Report
Smurfgirl · 28/05/2007 23:04

I don't think it hurts that much tbh, its over very quickly as well, def worth doing. I have never waxed my legs though so can't compare the pain.
