I've been looking for a small/medium hobo style bag for a while. I didn't particularly set out for grey but have narrowed it down to these two?

Number one - Peony and Moore:

And number two - Whistles:

There's quite a big price difference too....over you to MNers! Smile

sunbeam I did buy the whistles one with the grazia promotion, it's a great saving Smile

I am very tempted to keep both the whistles one and the navy P&M one Blush. They are very different colours and I'd use both desperately trying to justify it

There's a Whistles promotion on until Sunday (tomorrow), 25% off. It's in connection with Grazia so you might need to buy a copy or get a code. Quick! The Whistles bag is way nicer, btw Grin

So, have you chosen? Or are you (whispers) going to keep both?!

Ah but you see I keep quite a tidy bag Smile Purse, phone, keys, hand gel, 2 make up items and that's it.

My abandoned hobo bag is full of cast-off babybel wax, straws from juice cartons and sandy-fluff. Blush

Primal Lass - think that it true. I don't think I will buy another. I can never find a damn thing in mine.

Neither - hobo bags just end up full of stuff you can't find in the dark abyss.

still the whistles one.

The first one is too mumsy

Whistles still!

An UPDATE:

I did get both to compare. Decided agains the P&M one quite quickly - the colour was a bit wishy washy and just didn't like it. The Whistles one however is lovely.

But... now I have another dilemma! I thought maybe navy is a good colour and would look good against brown and tan jackets. So looking again on P&M website I found this bag:

www.peonyandmoore.com/product_info.php?products_id=225

Which is also really lovely! Nice shape and size for me, not too big not too small and lovely colour.

So now I am torn between navy P&M and the grey Whistles one!

I'd order both tbh, my P&M one is bloody lovely & I love it, but its such a personal thing, handbags, you need to see both of them irl to choose.

That is nice niminy although from the picture it does look a lot bigger.

I might try the P & M one as I haven't seen it IRL. I suspect it might go back though!

How about this one from Jaeger. Beautiful quality, very simple, no visible branding (absolutely a no-no for me).

Second definitely but with hobo bags all your stuff gets lost at the bottom, IME. I bought a similar one at Christmas and ended up returning it.

I love handbag threads too :)

Definitely no. 2 for me too. Sleek and more stylish. The sort of bag you could use for work and also at weekends.

Grey is a very good colour choice for a bag as is it an all season colour.

I think someone on here yesterday mentioned that it was time for a Whistles promotion soon... one around this time last year??

I prefer the second bag, but don't really love the Whistles logo (despite being a fan of their stuff generally) - however it's pretty discreet, and the leather looks nice.

Hope the discount comes along soon.

Oops sorry I think it's lovely!

Please don't apologise for handbag threads; I love them. Definitely the Whistles. The other is prissy. And by the sounds of other people's comments not that great.
Have you looked at the Marc Jacobs hobo? U think it's lovely.

DaftSkunk · 26/02/2015 21:02

Definitely the second one.

The first one looks really mumsy. I really can't understand why the brand is so popular.

The whistles one is so much more young and stylish. Looks like beautiful leather.

They are a brand that you pay for the name not the quality of the bag - never seen a promotion from them - - comes down to personal choice again - what do you want from your bag etc. size, pockets, straps, etc. forget the price and then see which one you prefer - -

I'm tempted by the whistles one but it is a lot of money and doesn't have pockets as someone said above. I do like a small pocket for phone and keys.

do whistles ever do promotions?

I would prefer 1 as don't really like the shape of 2, it's still a nice bag though. Depends how much stuff you need to fit in it!

The Whistles one is lovely. The other one looks cheap.
