Following on from the survey and thread at Christmas Warburtons have been back in touch with us and are pleased to announce their new breakfast handbook has now been published on a limited edition run.
The team at Warburtons say "We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but making sure the whole family has eaten something tasty and nutritious before leaving the house can often seem a mammoth task.
"What's more, Warburtons understands that getting the balance right between a tasty and healthy breakfast, which is also quick and easy to make, can often be a struggle. That's why it has teamed up with child psychologist Tanya Byron to create Breakfast: From Our Family to Yours 'Making Breakfast Easy'.
The books is the culmination of a large-scale study, which involved a mix of 2,000 mums - including 1,000 Mumsnetters ), over 50,000 Facebook fans and focus groups up and down Britain. The handbook includes hundreds of helpful hints, tips and recipes to help you tackle the weekday breakfast rush. Whether it's a top tip on how to entice the kids out of bed, helpful hints on getting the whole family involved in the morning routine, or a delicious recipe, there's something in it for everyone".

Warburtons would love to hear from you again. Share on this thread how you (or your partner) get the family up and out in the mornings and you'll be entered into a prize draw where three lucky MNers will win a Warburtons hamper full of Warburtons product as well as other goodies worth £45 in total.

In addition, there are 100 copies of the book up for grabs: add your details here and 100 MNers selected at random will receive a book.

Warburtons also say: "if you're not lucky enough to win a copy of the book here then do head over to //www.Facebook.com/Warburtons where Warburtons is running another free prize draw".

Good luck!

Key to mornings is the nighttime routine! Clothes laid out, school bags packed, calendar checked and breakfast stuff set out as much as possible, then, bed at a decent time.

Since getting into a better bedtime routine DD (10) has been able to get herself up at half seven and ready for school and we can have a leisurely breakfast together - really sets us up for the day. Even if slightly rushed, we can usually squeeze in toast and scrambled egg :)

School days DS 9 and DD 6 usually wake 7-7.20. Get dressed make beds and wait downstairs for me who is down by 7.40 ish. DD however is a slug so often needs coaxing to leave her pit. Countdowns before and after I go in the shower, promises of what awaits downstairs etc sometimes get her moving, other times its blind open duvet stolen harshness. DH leaves between 6.15-7.15am so doesn't get involved, apart from feeding the cat.

DD likes Weetabix or porridge , DS prefers toast or Warburtons sandwich thins. I eat fridge porridge which I make at the same time and stick in the fridge to eat once I am working (from home) after I have dropped them at school.

Weekends vary. Sometimes pancakes, sometimes eggs, sometimes a bacon sandwich. About the same timings on Saturdays due to Rainbows and football but now football season over and cricket beginning have a bit more grace on a Sunday morning.

We always follow the same routine which really helps to get everyone ready on time and prevents tantrums as my sons know what they're to do each morning and not to try it on asking for anything different. We get up, go downstairs in dressing gowns, have breakfast, then put on the television which my sons are allowed to watch as they get dressed. Then at 8.30 we go upstairs to the toilet, brush teeth, wash faces, then straight out to school.

Wow, there are some excellent breakfasters out there. When my husband's children are over, he gets them up. Cup of tea for the big one then toast or croissants in the car on the way to school.

It's all about routine for us in the morning. My partner has already gone to work so it's down to me to get our 2 girls moving in the mornings, we're always up at the same time and they watch a bit of CBeebies while i get ready and then downstairs for breakfast while I get lunches and bags ready. Once they've finished eating it back upstairs to do their teeth, wash and get dressed. And even though we do this every morning I still get complaints from them!!!

It changes occasionally depending on the day. Usually i try shower and dress before dd wakes, then when she does wake, get her dressed and we sit and eat cerial, toast, or fruit together. She takes longer than me, so as she finishes, I pack our bags to go out :) thats it!
Dh is usually gone by the time I dress dd.

We have the tv off until DS is ready for school. He's a fussy eater so its important that he has a good breakfast...it's not guaranteed he will eat much lunch! Breakfast is weetabix with banana and milk, porridge with raisins or scrambled eggs on toast.

I get up at 6am, make a cup of tea and take it back to bed to drink. At 6.45 I shower and from then on every second counts. The three ds's shower one after the other (always in the same order) whilst I make the porridge and Warburtons toast. Everything is packed for school the night before so we eat and leave as swiftly as possible.

My dd who is 15 is the early riser, and makes herself breakfast, then our 7 yr old ds, who has toast and porridge. He will not let anyone else do it for him.has to be done in a specific way.my dd then brings me a cup of tea, and takes our 7 month ds downstairs for his breakfast, which could be weetabix, or rusk or baby porridge. We then get up and afternthe school run we have a bowl of cereal, or sometimes s cooked breakfast. But we usually do the cooked breakfast on a weekend to eat as a family.
