PIP tribunal

PIP tribunal on Monday and I have absolutely no clue what to expect or do.
Adult DD. ASD.
first assessment came back scoring 0 with so many inaccuracies.
I haven’t any extra evidence - just what we sent off originally.
Can anyone advise as to what will happen? Will they question us (me? Her?).

Yes, the panel will ask questions. If you are appointee you can speak on DD’s behalf. They may still try to speak to DD, but if she can’t answer them don’t worry. Do you have evidence to highlight the inaccuracies? If you haven’t already it is worth looking at the points system so you know the types of activities they will look at.

Thank you.

how do you evidence things like
needing to be reminded, at the right time, right tone, etc etc, that they should wash/change/eat. And then the reaction will depend on every other factor going on that day and may result in a shower or a door kicked in?

or evidence when the person appears completely ‘normal’. And goes out to work for 8 hours but then has to sleep for 16 hours to recover.

same with food. Yes she can prepare a simple meal and use an oven but if left entirely alone would only eat pizza and nuggets (and that would be a whole pizza and whole bag of nuggets).

sorry. I mean in my mind when I do the trial assessment things I’ll tick the ‘needs prompting for x or y’ box. Stated that on the application. And then it came back with ‘doesn’t need prompting or support’ and scored zero

How you can provide evidence depends on the individual. For example, did/does DD have an EHCP? Has she seen/does she see OT, SALT, clinical psychologist etc? Does she have any aids or adaptations at home? Has she had a social care assessment? Does she have adjustments at work &/or seen occupational health? Has she seen the GP about the tiredness/exhaustion?

All the GP/therapy/medication stuff was included in the original application

So is that not your evidence to counter the inconsistencies?

No idea. Hope so as I have nothing else.

If the evidence you have already sent shows DD meets the criteria and demonstrates the original assessment included incorrect information you don’t need anything new.
