Just felt like it needed flagging really.

And a big up to all those we know and love who have Down's syndrome.

Maybe we could all say something about those we know????

Small, big, silly, gushy, whatever....

Today I met Lottie after school and for the very first time ever she said 'I missed you mummy'. It was a lovely moment.

PEOPLE WITH DOWN'S SYNDROME ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!

Lovely thread...
My DD (10 months) has DS. She is at that adorable chubby baby stage where she is a gorgeous little pudding. She has the most beautiful almond shaped eyes, and her whole face lights up with the most wonderful beaming smiles. When I pick her up for a cuddle, and she coos and blows raspberries and reaches out her pudgy little hands to grab my nose, my heart melts

When DS1 was about 13 months I used to take him every day to a therapist (not in the UK). I remember seeing a teenage boy with Downs syndrome many times in the waiting room with me.
He always seemed so confident. He would always start a conversation with me. His mother was always with him and I just loved to see their relationship.
The thing I remember most though, was one St. Valentine's day. He came with a white rose looking really pleased with himself, and I asked him, who is the rose for? And he answered "It's for my teacher" (meaning his therapist). I thought it was so so sweet.

Ahh, bullet, thats great
Yesterday I was driving through town, and I could see the back view of a young man, guess he was 17-20 years old. He had dyed tomato red hair, styled in spikes, he was wearing a black and red striped school blazer, and black drainpipes trousers with chains on. And I suspected, just from the way he walked and from his stature that he had Downs.
I drove further on, turned back to see his face, and yes he did have DS. He made me smile so much. Is the world ready for a punk with DS? It had better be!

Hi guys,

Thanks for your messages of support - yes, the amnio does show that our little boy has DS. I actually feel heaps better for knowing, rather than just assuming from all the soft markers on scans.

The JR hosp is a bit of a familiar place as I was stuck in there for 7 weeks prior to DD's arrival with placenta previa.

I've looked up about the Oxfordshire DS group and am looking forward to getting to know them - thank you for the contact number. I've also heard of a local couple who have recently had a baby with DS so am hoping to be put in touch with them soon.

I'll keep you all posted x
