Reading resources for dyslexic yr 7

Year 7 DS has been diagnosed as dyslexic.

We suspected he was, his reading age is significantly lower than his age and spelling ability very low.

He’s responded well in the past to programmes such as reading eggs and Nessy but although we started lower than his actual reading age with these (to boost his confidence) as soon as it got challenging for him he didn’t want to do anymore. I’ve looked at these again and they feel really young for him now, even if he did give another go.

Can anyone recommend a reading programme that’s helped their dyslexic young person? We do read, but it feels like he wants to re-read the same books he’s memorised. I think a programme where we can do little and often and work through in a structured way this would help.

Any recommendations welcome.

Have you looked at Lexia? You could also look at WordShark.

Thank you! I’d not heard of either of them so will look at both.

Not a reading programme but we're slogging through Toe By Toe and I'm seeing improvements.
