Just some quick advice as the doctor doesn't always answer the questions I have by email.
My 9yr old son is just started trialling 10mg of Elvanse (we split the 20mg capsule) combined with a non stimulant Atomoxetine (Straterra). Paying for it privately and surprised at how expensive it is (£40 for 10 capsules!) Just wondering if it's ok to leave giving it over the weekend to eek it out a bit, just the Elvanse that is or is there a withdrawal effect?
Also how long is it active in the body, it's taken at about 8am? My son definitely seems more irritable late afternoon/ early evg I guess when it's wearing off but am hoping this side effect will lessen in time.
Grateful for any replies, thank you.

Hello,

My daughter takes Elvanse and the doctor advised she doesn’t have to take it at weekends. So she only takes it on school days.

i am really interested that your son is prescribed Elvanse and atomoxetine. Can I ask who you have gone private with?

we are with clinical partners - i am wanting to ask if she can combine with atomoxetine as I am hoping the combination will help her mood and irritability. It doesn’t seem like a common option though so I was worried they would say no. In fact the only combination of the two I could find was in the US
