Keeping hunger at bay

Is anyone else following the S/W plan and finding it hard to keep hunger at bay? I was advised by my consultant at Group to eat more protein and drink water, with being semi vegetarian and intolerant to dairy I find it difficult to find something to curb my appetite, I can eat boiled eggs but they don't full me up, it's gone colder too so I'm more hungry, is there anyone else having the same issues?

What do you mean by semi vegetarian?

Protein is key for this, can you eat fish or white meat, do a soup with lots of protein grains like spelt or quinoa, lots of veg and the meat that you can eat

I have been vegetarian for years but recently started adding Chicken and fish, so not too confuse people i tell them i am semi vegetarian, I found out 5 years ago that I'm lacto intolerant so its difficult finding things to cook with my children and partner
I try to drink more water but it's gone cold now so I turn to coffee or tea to warm up, I just need to find more protein food I can eat to fill me up but not being expensive

I find chomping pickles can help curb hunger pangs. Pickled onions, eggs, gherkins. Pickled anything really! I love kimchi too. Doesn't fill me up (like the protein suggestions) but the taste takes my mind off things.

Eggs are good but in cold weather I always find hot food feels more filling so instead of boiled egg why not scramble them, can do it in the microwave in a couple of minutes.

I also like a warm salad for being more filling, so I'll put asparagus, green beans. Mushrooms, sugar snap peas, baby corn (whatever you like) into a microwaveable jug with a dash of water, cover loosely then blitz for 3 minutes. A knob of butter or teaspoon of olive oil, plenty of seasoning, some ready cooked chicken or sliced boiled egg and you can have a big bowl of hot flavoury veg for very few calories/points.

Many many years ago weight watchers had a recipe for zero point soup, not sure what the point system looks like now but it's still one of the things I make for the fridge when I'm dieting. It's basically veg stock, tinned tomatoes and then whatever zero/low point veg you like. I make a big pan full then portion it into microwaveable Tupperware so I can just quickly blitz some when I'm hungry.

I would say its more confusing to describe yourself as semi vegetarian. You just dont eat read meat!

Well its much easier then, have some cooked chicken in the fridge, make salads with chicken, fish, seafood etc. Protein dense is what you need, backed up by veg and salad.

Regarding the lactose intolerance- have you tried and over the counter lactase enzyme tablets? My son has ibs which is aggravated by dairy. I recently bought some of these tablets and he's back to eating cheese, drinking hot chocolate with no explosive repercussions. I thought they had to be prescribed but you can get them otc at boots, Holland and Barrett and supermarket pharmacies.

Worth giving them a go.

Life's too short to be hungry all the time. Just stay away from too much fast food and treats. Our bodies need more food/energy in winter to stay warm hence why you might be feeling hungrier.

I don't follow Slimmingworld but homemade soup is filling. It's easy to heat some up direct from frozen.

Eat bigger meals 3x a day , no reason to be hungry while following SW, then use your syns as treats and you can have fruit and yoghurt too if you still need something.

Thank you all for your advice
I finally got on top my food intake now, been freezing my S/W recipes (batch cooking) eating more protein foods and curbing my sweet cravings with fruit and yogurt or Vegan Options hot chocolate in the evening
I don't ever eat junk food as someone on here advice me to avoid, reducing my syns has helped too
