Speed free, is it necessary?

Hi all, provided I dont go mad with my portion sizes and try and include fruit/ veg in most meals (ie in the recipe) is it really necessary to keep adding these extra things that I dont really want? I mean for example... If I had a jacket potato with 1/2 tin of beans, I dont necessarily want salad on the side...especially as beans count as 1 of your 5 a day (Not exactly
The worlds biggest salad fan tbh) I have always done WW previously and am finding the thought of adding superfree as an extra to every meal, faffy and time consuming. Are there many of you here that have lost weight without overly worrying about the speed free 1/3 of plate sides? If so, what are your tips?

You know what, you should try it because from reading what you read before, now you've adjusted your eating I bet the vegetables are going to taste totally different to you now! So give it a go for a trial of say- two months? And then see if you end up enjoying them. Life is much easier to maintain a healthy weight if there is more of the sort of food you can eat lots of, like veg, so that on your very hungry days you can have extra broccoli, rather than extra protein/refined carb, to satisfy an increase in hunger.

With diet change you have to think long term, and life is much easier to maintain a healthy weight if you do enjoy eating vegetables.

Good luck! You've done brilliantly already.

I find the longer I'm on sw the more veg I naturally like to add. For me, part of having â…“ veg is to make new good habits. Even if I'm having it in addition to my food rather than replacing some, I think long term I will start to fill up more on veg

Onetime, a really nice speed food is butternut squash chips: easy to enjoy at least a third of a plate of them.

I agree totally with esmeralda, I was not a big veg fan before SW. Now I eat all sorts

I wasn't a big believer in the speed thing at first but the weeks I've really gone for it, the more I've lost.

I do try to incorporate it into the meal though. E.g. Courgetti spaghetti as my speed with bolognaise rather than adding the same old side salad to everything. Or having ryvita with cheese topped with loads of sliced gherkin as speed.

I definitely lose more on weeks where I eat more speed free fruit/veg. I think it's a big part of the plan
