Can we please have a "HEROES" topic? For parents similar to those with Gifted and Talented, but...

whose children do really gifted things like:

Turning invisible in a large department store when you turn your back for a split second.

Or who can apparently go for days without food or sustenance and still have the power of a duracell bunny?

Or can bend their bodies in order to escape any constraints?

or children who can make like the cat in Shrek and go all googly eyed and cute when they want something and morph into Animal off the Muppets when they don't get it?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/09/2007 13:40

Or those who emit a sticky substance (looks a bit like tomato sauce mixed with fruit juice) enabling them to cling to anything, or, indeed anything to cling to them?

And who can get ill at the merest mention of a babysitter...

bossykate · 19/09/2007 14:09

can emit high pitched whine with a force guaranteed to disable any opponent.

oliveoil · 19/09/2007 14:09

or know just when you have paid for a film on Sky and decide to pee the bed at a critical part of the plot

LizaRose · 19/09/2007 14:11

Or have unbelievable powers of wakefulness, going for daus without sleep.

All of my children have the power to psychically destroy the washing machine, and then make themselves ill. Everytime.

morningpaper · 19/09/2007 14:12

great idea

why don't we rename "Gift and Talented" to "Superpowers" ?

witchandchips · 19/09/2007 14:13

shout "i need my mummmy" when you and dp are just at the point of no return in your first shag for ages

tortoiseSHELL · 19/09/2007 14:43

They know when they are being looked at when they are asleep, and however silent you are, your very presence sets off their internal alarm system!!!

ronshar · 19/09/2007 14:44

Or know exactly when you really need a good night s sleep and then decide to wake up 5 times.

stressteddy · 19/09/2007 14:47

or when they can hold their poo in forever and then release it only on command in the bathtime!!
hoorah for colonboy!

southeatsastras · 19/09/2007 15:04

my son has a superpower, he can detect exactly when i put my bum on a seat and will ask for something at that precise moment.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/09/2007 19:22

My DS also has the ability to scare ANY cat at as much as 20 paces......

LOL at renaming G & T

Waiting until you are making an important phone call (not just a chat with a mate) to decide that actually they both want the red car/dinosaur/spot on the sofa and start trying to kill each other.

Always needing the toilet at precisely the same moment (never happened when there were 2 toilets in the house...)

...and oh look, first one on the loo can then poo on demand, taking his time while his brother skips and dances around trying to hold his in!

becklespeckle · 20/09/2007 10:26

suddenly deciding they can remember what they did at school today just as you are turning their bedroom light out...

YeahBut · 20/09/2007 10:29

Can detect ANY gap, open door or unlatched gate in the vicinity. Can shrink body to squeeze through the most incredibly small escape routes.

Marina · 20/09/2007 10:31

Can make contents of a large fruit bowl vanish silently
Can make adults hand over the contents of their handbag just by staring really hard
Can detect when is the absolute worst time to ask a complicated question about human reproduction

TinyGang · 20/09/2007 10:32

Or throw together outfits so unusual, quirky and yet strangely stylish and wear them with such 'attitude' that Kate Moss is green with envy.

2shoes · 20/09/2007 10:34

yes please as my sun is a hero
he can do so many special leave towells on the floor.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/09/2007 10:54

LOL! That'd make my DP a superhero too then 2shoes

FlossALump · 20/09/2007 11:01

Can try and clear up poo accidents and ensure you find the large amount of evidence at the exact moment the important visitors knock on the door...

OrmIrian · 20/09/2007 11:11

DS can run around on all fours at amazing speed all day. He's being a dog. And he can also bark quite convincingly. He cocked his leg on a display once when my parents took him a garden centre once.

Does that count?

2shoes · 20/09/2007 12:01

oh vvv and my ds can spell better than me
