So, we thought we'd have a sort of Mumsnet open day...

Ever found yourself wondering, in an idle moment, what really goes on at MNHQ? If you’re curious to know who’s in charge of the big red delete button, what we keep in our biscuit tin, and whether we do, in fact, harbour mainland UK’s largest cache of gin well, here’s your chance. On Wednesday 26th March we’re planning to throw open our doors to five nosy interested Mumsnetters, who’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to uncover our deepest, darkest secrets.

Attendees will be treated to

  • a tour of MNHQ (which will take approx 10 mins)
  • the opportunity to grill our community, content, bloggers, events and campaigns folks on anything you fancy
  • the chance to ransack our books box for a load of freebies
  • lunch on me (possibly with Wine)

We’ll also do our best to organise an exciting webchat guest for the day, so you can see backstage on those too.

Our offices are in central-ish London (Kentish Town); if you’re likely to be within striking distance on March 26th, and fancy a nose around, add your name to this thread; we’ll stick it in a hat and do a Hunger Games-style reaping on Monday 3rd March. Come on now, don’t be shy - what could possibly go wrong?

[May the odds be ever in your favour]

Nevergoogle! :( I'm sorry you couldn't make it. However, I do believe I was your stand in Blush
I only got to my emails at 1am. But the email was sent yesterday morning! so Rebecca wasn't up in the early hours (not for me anyway Wink).

Was a really good day! MNHQ is full of gorgeous and stylish people (no, really!) and everyone was very welcoming! There were plenty of yummy home baked cakes... chocolate cakes!! I didn't try them :( but secretly hope that Kate will post some out!! Wink
There was a large bottle of gin on the desk next to one of the ahem, staff members .

The mostly open plan office is very busy and it's amazing the amount of work that is going on.
Patrick was very informative and very stylish handsome too!

Lunch with Justine, Rebecca and Rachel (I hope I've remembered your name right!) was fab, with lots of conversation, but I was cursing my deafness a bit and I apologise if I answered a question wrong! typical thing for me to smile and nod inappropriately Blush, but I did hear most of the conversation ~ honest!

It was lovely to meet the other 3 Mumsnetters and there was a funny moment when two of us seemed to recognise one another, but neither of us knew how! I still don't!

Anyway, thank you MNHQ for allowing us into your world of work, I for one had a lovely time!

Ps. Rebecca, I think we must have missed one another as I popped to the ladies before leaving. It took me 2 1/2 hours to do a 35 minute (according to the SatNav) journey Shock. Ah well! totally worth it! Grin

at Solo. Lucky you!

Tell us the truth, is MNHQ full of intimidatingly stylish and clever people or more like a Hogarth print like we all suspect?
