@trincomalee

Thanks, MmeLindor.

I'm just popping back to apologise for my demented posting on Monday. Blush

Especial apologies to MNHQ Flowers

Hope you got it sorted, Roooney.

No need to apologise, trincomalee (but thank you anyway!)

Did you manage to namechange in the end?

And yes, congrats on quitting the cigs!

Hi Tech Smile

Thanks for answering...I can log in without difficulty as I have 'asked IE to remember my password for Mumsnet.com'

The thing is I can't see it

so when I go to change my name, I can't enter it there

and then it says at the bottom of the page, the thing about send an email - so I click on that, the box appears and I fill in my email address.
Then nothing happens.

There is no 'send' tab to click iyswim?

Tech · 08/07/2013 20:16

Hi RooneyMara, on the page here you log in there should be some text just under the log in button

Forgotten your password? Send a password reset email.

Do you not see that?

Rebecca, you know I didn't mean it!

Please see above for possible current excuses reasons I may not be feeling the lurve at the moment.

(Though it's true that I now hate Hmm feel reproachful towards Fenton because her virtual ice creams look too damn good.)

I'm having trouble changing my name too, but it's because I've forgotten my password and the 'send password reset' button is missing.

They know this, I haven't had an update for a couple of days though...and I don't hate them. but I'd like to know if it's sorted yet. Smile

Eyes, yes I look forward to November at the very soonest. Because, Tee, my posts make it so clear how very much in earnest I am.

Fenton: Where, just WHERE, is my bloody ice-cream, you absolute cow?

AAANNDD I still maintain that the old way was easier.

Not that I am ever against change, and all that. Oh no.

Oh good, self-help. Always the best way.
You do sound very like my teenager, everything is someone else's fault when he can't manage equipment. Grin

'yes you are indeed stuffed and need help from MNHQ.'

That's if they'll talk to you.
Or perhaps you are now query number 476,981 and will be dealt with in November.

ohwhatagrumpything · 08/07/2013 16:40

OK, done it (as if you're interested!). It did seem a less straightforward way of doing things, but I guess that was just me being useless.

(And I changed my name to this purely in order to annoy Chaos.)

Report
Fenton · 08/07/2013 16:37

Okay, I've decided to be helpful now (have had an icecream)

My Account

(you may have to now login again as who you are now)

In the Username box highlight and type over or manually delete and type in a new name

Further down the page you have to put in your password again

Then further down click save.

This should be it. If not trying closing the browser and going back in.

If what you are saying is you can't click in that Username box and tap tap tap delete trincomalee and tap tap type in a new name, then yes you are indeed stuffed and need help from MNHQ.

Report

Oops, you're right- they've changed it!

My account (you may need to re-log in)

Change name in username box

Re-input password near the bottom.

Click to save.

Then report back!

AAAND
there is no 'My registration' choice in the Mumsnet box at the top of the page.
Unless I'm going bananas (which is of course quite possible).
