Relationships

Is this really a THING that people DO???

I am in a new relationship with man I've known for a long time. Until I got together with him I never had sex on my period, and when I mentioned this to my friend she looked at me aghast, as if I was weird. I didn't think it was that common, to have sec on your period. I've clearly led a sheltered life.
Now I've relaxed into the relationship a lot and I'm now comfortable having sex on my period, which is awesome, no more crossing a week off the calendar and feeling frustrated.
ANYWAY. I have my period. Last night in bed my partner told me he wanted to go down on me. I was slightly Shock, but he was totally relaxed and serious and said "it's alright, it's called a strawberry kiss". I declined.

Is this really a thing that people do???? Strawberry kisses? Really? Hmm

For a bloke it can be very erotic.....I have always loved it and appreciate the trust it takes for a woman to allow it much less relax and revel in it.

I don't know about my average MNetters, but there will definitely be some interested nosy

I would definitely not share such a kiss prude
Might consider if he brushed his teeth afterwards or PIV in the bathtub or with proper water-proof mattress protector.

I do get horny during my period, but not the first couple of days, when I'm uncomfortable with the flow and often cramps.

I think you're completely out of order, Mintyy.

I am an "average" Mumsnetter, and I think the thread is quite interesting - regardless of who started it and why.

It never occurred to me that this is a regular part of some people's sex lives. Why shouldn't it be talked about?

It's irritating that you've decided to speak for everyone.

Email MNHQ privately if it bothers you that much.

HQ ffs why don't you just delete this steaming great pile of bullshit?

Do you honestly think your average Mumsnetter is a. interested in or b. taken in by this stupid thread?

payhisdebt We get on well together otherwise. Time passes quickly, a marriage can drift on, and on, regardless. Couples are busy and preoccupied most of the time. Taken up with all sorts of other things, major and minor. A common enough story, everything fairly good except one thing: sex and intimacy. Years pass, decades pass... Before you know it marriage has long become a friendship only.

DropYourSword She was not forced to do anything. Nothing further happened that night. God knows why what I wrote 'sort of' made your skin crawl. What an odd reaction to a simple little description.
But the sort of sexual activities often seemingly considered normal enough on this forum would certainly make my wife's skin crawl. No doubt about that.

Enough of this. Defending myself against a typically aggressive remark has dragged me away off topic. My apologies, OP.

suppose you don't want to do it but your other half does?

I'd just find that a bit.... eww

We wouldn't but I have really heavy periods and sex is just not enjoyable when I'm on. Tried it before and its all slippy and no friction not good for either of us. DH generally gets his monthly blow job when I'm on though Grin only time he gets a 'full' one as we're TTC.

It's only blood, FFS. Your own blood, at that.

Donatoni- why why why would you try to force oral sex on someone that absolutely clearly doesn't want it, like it or appreciate it. Your post sort of made my skin crawl.

strawberrykisses I am totally serious !
I think a healthy attitude to sex in all its forms when you have a period is whatever the opposite of a red flag is in a man !

never understood men who have a hands off approach during a period ( unless it's at the request of the woman )

Not something I would consider but according to quite a few on here they do so each to their own...

I remember this being discussed as a rainbow kiss at school Shock
Don't think anyone had done it, but we discussed it!

Report
tingle1 · 27/10/2013 23:00

Its called a rainbow kiss. the two of you are meant to share the 'drink'.

Report
HelloBoys · 27/10/2013 20:34

Sorry but that is yuck and a bit pervy.

Most men I know don't like period sex. I quite like it due to helping with cramps etc but for consideration for men I generally avoid it. also, very messy with sheets etc - its a bugger to get blood out of white sheets

why the F does he want to taste your blood?? is he a vampire?

Strawberry kiss sounds a lot nicer than "clotted lining of uterus kiss" Grin

I love the way these threads always turn into the competitive sex Olympics. Being called a prude because you don't indulge in every sexual practice going is hilarious.
