Pushchairs

waiting for a baby jogger city versa ...

I've not seen it yet, but like what I've read online: easy fold, faces either way, will hopefully last out the pushchair years... although it is heavier than bjcm. Anyone got any positive / negative thoughts? I'd like a red one!

Was soooo excited about the versa but been to look at it and it is very very heavy! Just my opinion though, I have had bjcm and it wins hands down! Glad I saw it before I ordered. Smile

I've just ordered a versa from Debenhams...it's on pre order, which is fine, means I have time to sell a few other things befrore the money goes out!

Quite fancied the GT but I have a mountain buggy and not too worried about the tyre issue. I think it's more ££ is it?

Yes, its only being stocked by a few retailers as only one batch was being brought into the UK to see how well it sells. I would try Ladybugs, Itsababy, Peppermint, Winstanleys and see if they have any. If none of these have them, then shout and I will see if I can find out who else stocks them. But all stock was allocated months ago, and so its a case of finding the stores with any left!

Thanks!! Smile

We are city dwellers so a narrow light pram is important but I think the June is as narrow and roughly the same weight as the Cruz. Do you know if the seat is low? One thing I don't like about the Bee is how low it is. My Dh and I are relatively tall and felt sooooo far away from seat/baby.

We are planning on baby wearing quite a bit too

I'm not due until xmas eve so I'll wait for your comprehensive review! Wink

I have ordered my June from Twins Store but I think Ladybugs and Pramland (Hull) have them too. I personally would stretch the extra - I think the June is probably the pushchair that will do it all but it depends what you want to do with it. Its a decent size ie not too huge, so you aren't likely to swap it for a buggy later on. Its got chunky wheels so great for going anywhere - and even if you live in a City I bet you go to the park sometime.
I would be surprised if it didn't take a buggyboard - Easywalker usually do their own - there may well be one on the website. But don't bank on not needing a double - I thought I could survive with a buggy board and I couldn't. But I am only working off having seen it a couple of times....but I usually have good instincts. But come back and ask me once its arrived. There should be no rush to order one.

I am not that keen on my Cruz - it is very much city dwelling and I couldnt have it as my only pushchair. There have been many days out, or birthday party venues where it wouldn't have coped. The suspension is so hard.

Thanks Tiggy,

How do I do a good deal when buying? Have you ordered your June yet? Where have you ordered from? Looks like June with be ~£685 with carrycot. Seems a hell of a lot. Esp if can get Cruz + Carrycot £500-£520.

Do you really think the June is worth £200 more? This is our first so we won't be looking to sell it on for a while.

MIL has offered to buy pushchair, but think nearly £700 is talking the p*ss. I suppose we could contribute.

Do you think it'd fit a buggy board?

Sorry to ask so many questions.

You can get some things cheaper at baby shows but it depends who is exhibiting. I wouldn't put the baby in the Cruz with the snug seat. In the US carrycots aren't widely used, so they use inserts or car seats more, or simply put the baby in the seat. Here carrycots are recommended. You could in theory out a wedge into the Versa seat in the same way eg a Surf baby snug wedge but I would get the carrycot for any of these. See a carrycot as a rental as you would get some money back on it one day if you look after it.
The June seems fab....again look at it as a rental. Do a good deal when buying it and I bet you get a good chunk back at the end.

Oh I've fallen for the June!! How do I justify the cost??

The June looks brill but not sure I can justify the extra nearly £200. Will also need to buy the carry cot.

With the cruz you can get a snugseat rather than carrycot. Though I'm not sure I'm a fan of bucket seats.

The length of the Versa puts me off but I haven't managed to see it yet.

Do you know if the baby show tends to sell things cheaper?

Thanks!!!!

The Versa is great. Its got all the elements I need to make a good pushchair - big seat, easy to push, Huge shopping basket, neat fold, folds parent facing. The fold is easy - I am finding the unfold more tricky. Its lovely to push and use. It really feels good.
I like all the extra details - the magnetic peekaboo windows, the handbrake, the storage pocket, easy to adjust harnesses etc.
Its definitely a good pushchair.
The Cruz is still here.....I haven't used it for some time.....but its still here. The June I believe is due this week...and to be honest thats always been my favourite so I hope it doesn't disappoint....

Will do.

The cruz is lighter than the versa and not so long.

At the moment my preference is for the cruz but need to see a Versa.

I know someone with the cruz and she loves it but didn't get it until baby was 6months.

I'll be in touch.

Diamond, I am in the same position as you, can't decide between the Cruz and the Versa, please let me have your feedback, I will not do any purchase before end of Oct anyway as will not need it before then. TIA

Twiggy - Has your Versa arrived?

We waiting for the Versa to decide between that and the Cruz. I know you return you're Cruz. I'm interested in your versa review.

Thanks!

Silversixpence - the Maxi Cosi goes directly onto the frame using city select (Versa also) adaptors. The seat isnt needed.

can anyone tell me whether the maxi cosi goes onto the frame directly or with the pushchair seat in place?

I'm sick of my carboot being filled with pushchairs, pushchair parts and adaptors. I'm hoping this will fit the bill for all my needs- not asking much is it Smile

There are just so few pushchairs which fold with the seat on parent facing....and which have a nice neat fold. I am fed up turning seats around and the Bee just feels so rickety and can't cope well with our school run - I have a wheel off the ground coming down the path.

The difference is that if you dont like the Versa GT, I am sure it will resell well because of there only being one batch, and there will be plenty of regular Versa's to swap it for.

I think I will order the gt version, as I'm sure it'll be something I regret not waiting for if I get the regular version. I will be going to JL on Wednesday (to return the bjcm double I bought back in June and haven't actually used once!) so I will see what they are planning on getting in, and when.
