Just on market!

Yesterday. Seen something we like. Worried about the state of the market.

EAs haven’t rung yet 😂 which is making me nervous no one wants to view this weekend!

It seems there is a flurry of interest when a property first goes on the market and then it dies off. We have had several people not looking to move suddenly putting their homes on the market once ours was on as they supposedly wanted it. Only one or two really proceedable buyers though willing or able to pay what it’s worth. But a few miles away, houses are going like hot cakes particularly in the under £2 million bracket. Location location still seems to be a drive as does presentation, presentation. (And price of course). People not as keen on renovation jobs even in the ‘perfect’ street.

5 bed house in Scotland, listed a week ago and we've had 8 views so far. No more lined up at the moment

things moving very slowly here on the south coast with very little coming on the market. I am a buyer (not a vendor this time) but although it’s a buyer’s market with properties being reduced there is also very little coming on the market. The agents I spoke to (lots!) said things were slow, chains were also regularly collapsing even at exchange) and generally things are quite slow.

@GenXxx we are three bedroom house in immaculate condition.

A very similar one sold to ours at a higher price point, it took a few weeks, so hoping ours will be the same.

Are these flats rather than houses? If the latter, it seems very reasonable! We are in a higher price bracket but areas just a bit to the west of us seem to be even more crazily expensive. In our area, the only house that sold in a fortnight was the most expensive one.

We’re thinking of selling but seeing what is happening around here is putting us off. We’re in a very leafy part of Hampshire and nothing is moving. Every single house is being reduced by about 5%. Mind you they are going on at insane prices, think Agents are telling sellers their houses are worth more, so the sellers go for it. Nothing then happens for a few weeks so they then have to reduce the price. It’s just daft!

To the SE London crew: what price points are you on for? We are - hopefully - about to go under offer but mixed feelings as area of London a bit further west we are looking at is getting ever more expensive yet ours has still got some growth to go…

Sold recently, 600k price point, and also moved a bit further west where things are more expensive. Are you heading W or SW?

£750 - thought it was punchy but three EAs recommended that price! What can you do, say no market or lower 😂

Not a dicky after it’s first full day on right move…

worried we will lose out on the house we want and not even be able to sell at all! Perhaps I should give it chance but serious house hunters have their alerts set up.

Daughter put her (pretty poor house) on the market in a sought after Scottish coastal town last month. 28 viewings organised over a weekend and 5 sealed bids within a week!
Here in my mid somerset town we've had very quick offers on 3 new to the market houses over £700,000, but my friends perfectly decent flat has had only 1 viewing in 2 weeks

i felt the same way. Mine went for sale on a Tuesday. I did say I was free on a set day if they wanted to block boom. Heard Nothing from estate agents for a week. Suddenly had 5 viewings lined up for the day I said. Sold cash buyer to first viewer.

Nowhere near London, but around here it's very area dependent. Little pockets that are 'desirable' are still selling within a few weeks, but the less well-to-do areas are absolutely dead

How’s everybody else on the market finding things? We are SE London.
