When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do, is take a look at you....

I can totally get everyone having their own tastes. At 19 in my first property I sanded and sprayed a load of donated mismatch furniture people kindly donated me, and my purple kitchen with accompanying silver moon and star spray transfers was an absolute delight! But at this price tag and from the guesstimate of the bathtub cost. You'd think they could have sprung for carpets and some furniture maybe.

Random fish slice in the kitchen? WHERE'S THE LUBE?
Probably in a blue tube so camouflaged.

Hah now I want to see pics of a bright orange bathroom!

My husband decorated with too much orange in his first place and I was very happy to leave it behind. But it sounds like nothing compared to an all-orange bathroom.

I will definitely warn my parents to move any creepy mannequin or horse heads before selling. Grin

The Godfather springs to mind with that horse head.

Feel like I'm drowning... but I agree with poster who wrote that they can see how much enjoyment the design brought to the owner. And after all ... it's they who had to live (drown) in it!

@kismett someone once "enjoyed" living in my house, they painted the bathroom bright orange... Walls, ceilings and even the door. It had all been (badly) painted over prior to us buying the house.

I agree, totally. But I'm sure you're parents might have moved the creepy mannequin head in the bath for the photos?

Sorry, didn’t mean to bring you down!

I suppose it’s partially because I have parents that have somewhat eccentric tastes and I know people would make fun if they saw pics of their house on Rightmove. But I know that my parents had very little when they were young and worked very hard for their house and all their stuff. And they’ve enjoyed it. We all have. So I see someone else’s eccentric house and think they’ve really enjoyed making it their home.

Obviously not everyone has the same experiences I’ve had, so we’ll see it differently.

Kismett Really? Seriously the only thing I see looking at it is... Mummy and Daddy bought investment property to house "wayward drug addled 'artistic bohemian' overgrown child", and then told them to crack on! Ensuing rifling furniture from skips and a job lot of Dulex paint then happened... 🙄

You're right kismett and I do feel a bit mean-spirited poking fun. For me it's actually less the colour - which yes, someone really must have loved, more totally obscure objects in the pictures!

I understand why people don’t like it (and it’s not to my taste either). But my first thought when I see a house like this is that someone once really enjoyed it. They spent a lot of time and money to have it done up in a way that they enjoyed. And that makes me happy.

I don’t know what I’m more horrified by... the price or the decoration!

I like the ways there are 2 pics of the yard. Like "Look, there's a horses head. Close up No, you guys, there's a horse's head!"
