Weight after first period

Did any of your DD loose the puberty weight after their periods started? Or how soon did you see any changes in terms of loosing the slightly plump (I hate the word) look?

Dd had a beautiful dress two Summers ago. First summer it fit perfectly when I bought it. The second summer she really thickened up around the middle, had a huge growth spurt and it was much too tight. She had started her periods in the April (she's 11)
This year she tried the dress on and it fits her perfectly again, all the plumpness around her middle seems to have moved downwards giving her a lovely figure and a waist again.
So to answer your question I think about a year after the start of periods.

Thanks for that, I did wonder if to hold on to some clothes which are too tight at the moment. I worry about the weight gain but seems to be normal at that age, I can't remember my own changes at that age,

Is this a thing nowadays? I didn’t gain any excess fat around puberty, and neither did my two DDs. The growth spurt in height meant we all stayed in proportion throughout, although I was quite below average weight for the whole of my teens.

I think some grow outwards before upwards and vice versa.
Although I've seen plenty of DC friends who have grew in height and weight at same rate, all different I guess

I think for dd, puberty coincided with lockdown! But she looks slimmer, a year after starting periods.

Yes mine definitely grew outwards first then upwards, and yes her appetite increased dramatically during that time so you could argue the weight gain was food.
But if you look at her now she has such a beautiful figure, definitely the hungry caterpillar turning into a butterfly story.

I'd not pack those clothes away yet.

My daughter definitely grew in height but stayed tiny weight wise. She's now final height 5'6 and 6st 12.
