Xbox games for 12 year old

My son is getting a new xbox for his birthday. Has asked for Star Wars, Fifa and Need for Speed.

He wants Halo and Call of Duty but I've said no due to their ratings. Any suggestions for other age appropriate games please?

I'm not sure on Call of Duty but Halo [The first one at least] should be okay for a 12 year old, it's killing aliens rather than people. I think you're going to find it difficult to find "age appropriate" games for a 12 year old as they're growing more mature, can you talk to his father?

The Lego games are excellent, good fun for adults as well as children.

DS has just got Terreria - a retro 8 bit game on the lines of Minecraft.
