Presents for 12 year old Ds

He doesn't really need/want anything. Wants money but I know he'll be disappointed if there isn't a pile of presents. Any ideas?

If you can do something in London, what about tickets to Art of The Brick at The Old Truman Brewery, not far from the Barbican. DD is far from a Lego fanatic but we all like seeing interesting stuff made out of it. Last year there was a Lego Underground map at some tube stations and the year before a Lego xmas tree at St Pancras, we sought out both.

If you give him clothes/shoes/a nice belt as gifts to unwrap as well as the cash it's not like buying two lots of presents as you'd get him clothes anyway. Maybe some aftershave type stuff?

Alternatively, does he have any hobbies that need 'stuff'? DD got new jodphurs & riding gloves for her 12th birthday, non-essential but nice to have, IYKWIM.

Does he still do lego? DD got this Forbidden Lego book for Christmas, & it's pretty cool (it's by ex lego designers, models that break the 'rules' for proper models, either too dangerous, involve chopping bricks up etc)
