Responsible teenager is an oxymoron. Grin

I have to keep telling my 13 year old off for wearing his brother's pants (boxers). DH doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between pants for a 4 year old and pants for a 13 year old so he just bungs a selection in both of their drawers. DS1 just pulls on whatever pair comes first and doesn't seem to notice that the age 3-4 ones are a bit tight!

Not necessarily Rosencrantz - my ds is 17 and much prefers his cartoon character underwear.
As others have said - he will tell you when he wants plain ones for a bit before he reverts back to more 'fun ones as he gets older.

Really had to laugh at the words "responsible" and "teenager" sitting next to each other as if that were a 'thing' though Grin

When girls are on the scene he'll stop wearing them by himself. Don't worry.

Judging by what's on the clothes airer in the corner, DH pants have been Thundercats, Star Wars, Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo, and Danger Mouse over the past few days. He's 33.

He does have 'smart pants' to go under his suit when he has occasion to wear it though. I think he's afraid to go to a posh 'do' in cartoon pants Grin

I bought my 11 year old lots of plain pants for his first term at secondary.

He is still wearing his Simpsons pants!

rpitchfo do you live in the Vale Royal area or could you move? We have some fabulous characters around here ranging from Johnny Depp woman to Elvis woman. I feel that wearing their pants over their trousers person would complete our set Grin

what, exactly, is your issue with cartoon underwear? How is it wrong to wear them?

Sorry OP but the title of your post made me giggle. My DH still wears themed boxers, batman etc. He was delighted when I bought him bazinga boxers for Christmas, his mates were envious. And he is a responsible adult despite this "fault".

His pants, his business. Although I might not be saying that when DD is 13 and I find some frilly knickers or worse a g-string ShockGrin

I would be delighted if at the afe of 13 she still wears Peppa Pig knickers!

If he likes them and wants to wear them then what is the problem? If they are made in his size then presumably he's not the only 13 year old still wearing spiderman underwear.

What does being a 'responsible teenager' have to do with his pants? Confused I'd only be concerned if he wasn't changing them regularly!

I don't think this is something that you need to get het up about OP.

LOL at responsible teenager!

Buy him the underpants he wants. If he's not bothered about other lads seeing them in the changing room why are you?

He will tell you when he wants different pants.

DS is 9, he likes trunks with the exposed elastic waistband. Recently, he took all the trunks with "hidden" elastic and put them in the bin, saying he hates them, and he has told me numerous times. They were getting too small and he was making a point.

My. 16 yr old ds got Simpson boxers for Christmas, alongside his Calvin's but I know he'll wear them all just the same. No big deal .
