Thank you to everyone who helpfully responded on my prior thread. Several of you correctly (and gently) noted that I appeared to be suffering from pretty severe anxiety and provided helpful feedback about how to ground myself. I’m working on it.
When things are less intense I’ll likely seek therapy for my PPA. I still blame myself for going so early.

My baby is 5 weeks old today and is finally over 3kg. He seems to be doing well and I have started taking him places in the pram. He finally can fit in the sling and I’m thrilled.

Things are still hard. I wish I had a more concrete roadmap and my health visitor isn’t super helpful, but we’re getting through.

Thank you to everyone who reached out. I’d appreciate anyone who has been here before sending through any “challenges” to get back to normal. hearing people say they took their babies out right away really helped me.

How are you both getting on now @Matthew54? I don't know how I managed to click on this old thread but it would be lovely to hear how you are Flowers

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! Things were pretty difficult for the first two months. My Buddy developed horrific reflux and was essentially screaming every moment he was awake (which was always).

We medicated him privately and he’s like an entirely different baby. He’s doing so well! He’s still a bit skinny, but he’s growing and smiles and laughs. We have him in physical therapy for some issues with his neck and right arm, but he’s improving every day. He loves listening to music and being snuggled.

I am still a bit of a wreck. Whenever we go to the hospital I get a steel band around my chest, but I’m trying to focus on how well he is doing.
