I've just been booked in for a Caesarean at 39 weeks, as this is the best time for the baby (apparently 39 weeks is the new recommendation). I'm at risk of pre-term labour anyway, so have been told I might go lots sooner, or the date might be brought forward, but I'm interested in how many people had their first before 39 weeks.
Also, I'm booked in for the op on Good Friday - does this seem usual? I know hospitals don't stop delivering babies out of office hours, but an elective op seems strange on a Bank Holiday.
