I'm wondering if there are any ladies who are around the 4 week pregnant mark? I've just had IVF using a sperm donor and I'm a single lady. I've found out it's worked and I'm 4 weeks now!
Oh I'm 43 by the way!
Would be nice to share this experience with other ladies....

Thank you everyone. It's great to hear other stories and how you have all embraced it!

@QueenMabs I was also advised by the NHS not to waste my time and to adopt. I was upset by this as I felt they wouldn't even give it a try with me. (I would have had to pay also)
Anyway I didn't give up and went to a private clinic who welcomed me in and got the ball rolling straight away. It has cost an awful lot but it's given me a chance which is worth the money.
Don't give up hope. If you have the money try private. I used the LONDON's woman's clinic but the branch in Darlington. They have been excellent!

@Willow1980 congratulations! I am about 3 and a half weeks pregnant!

I’ll be going for a reassurance scan around 7 weeks too! We did with our first baby and it was really lovely and exciting!

Congratulations @Willow1980 xx

@Absc congratulations too xx I am single and also considering IUI for my second child. My first child is 1.5 with my ex partner.

if you don’t mind me asking did IUI work first time for you? Did you have a medicated or I medicated cycle? x

Congratulations! My donor twins are nearly 3. It's hard work at times, but well worth it!
I was 47 giving birth - textbook, uneventful pregnancy and calm birth via c-section at 38 weeks, with minimal recovery time (a day or two).
Wishing you all the best! :)

I'm so excited for you this is great news!

I'm childless after three miscarriages and we got turned down for IVF on the NHS but I wished we just waited and paid it and for an Egg donor . I'm 43 too

Congratulations my doner conceived dt are now teens! They are very happy with the situation. I won't lie it's been hard at times (but nobody said parenting was easy) but also rewarding and the best job ever. Enjoy the pregnancy and look after yourself so you can look after baby.

Congratulations you brave brave woman! (fist bump).

I'm currently on about week 650 of single motherhood...got pregnant by accident to an idiot- using a sperm donor would have been preferable on all counts, though.

If you are on Instagram you should follow Livsalone and also read her book, it's great! I read it as I will be a single mother, but she used a donor and it was a really interesting book.
