Placenta Previa, please ease my anxiety

Hi all
So, 20 week scan yesterday, baby perfect. Sonographer casually mentioned placenta is blocking the exit, covering the os. Had no idea what he was on about, just happy baby was okay. He said it can increase the risk of needing a section, I'm having a planned section anyhow so didn't think anything of it. Had a 2 minute after appointment with a midwife who said any bleeding I must immediately come into hospital, if it's heavy then 999 ambulance. I was a bit shocked to ask any questions and she hurried me out of the door saying I'd have a scan at 30 weeks and hopefully it's not previa anymore.
I promised myself I would not Google.
So obviously I googled last night and I am now a complete mess of anxiety. Convinced myself if I have sex or a long walk I'm going to bleed out and die on the spot leaving my beautiful 3 year old daughter and husband behind.
I've had a tough start to this pregnancy with HG and it had finally eased up and I was enjoying my life again. Now I'm terrified. I can't find out if I should rest/avoid sex etc NOW or if it hasn't changed by next scan.
Please can anyone share/comfort/virtual shake me?

I should say, it hadn’t moved, but all was well in the end!

For anyone else who reads into these threads like I did. We were told we had a complete prévia at the 20 weeks scan. I was worried the whole time - but want to you know that our wee boy was delivered at 37 weeks as planned and is 4 weeks old tomorrow. The doctors deal with this all the time. Try not to worry

Chances are yours will shift =)
Any bleeding, 999 straight away. No sex, no pessaries etc and take it easy. It seems like a distant memory to me now! Won't be long till you're gazing at baby feeling the same I'm sure. How are you? Pregnant during a pandemic isn't quite the magical experience you think it's gonna be am I right!

Awesome, good for you guys. Glad to see it all went well.
We were just told it may require a C Section. Like you say, I am sure it will all be fine! Google is not always a friend - so it is nice to come here and hear from people who have been here Xmas Smile

Hiya! I never got back to writing it out...I've been a tad busy! Mine never moved, but my csection went beautifully and I lost the minimum amount of blood. I had a bleed at 26 weeks and she tried to come! But literally the ambulance arrived within minutes and I was treated as top priority. I'm sure you'll be fine, just take it easy. What info have you been told? Massive congratulations too Smile

How did you get on? I hope the panic subsided.

Just had a late 12 week scan at 17,5 and been told there is complete placenta previa. I was fine until I googled too. I know the literature all says that it is likely to move, but our midwife did say "I dont think that will have moved". Got a further scan in 2 weeks. which will bring us back inline with normal schedule. Mad few weeks - exciting, followed by anxiety.

Feeling ok, pleased about todays scan but she also said some accreta can not be picked up on a scan and will only be found during surgery. Anxious to get next scan done and have birth plan in place.

I dont know.... specialist and consultant both said for total placenta previa the section is done at 37/38 weeks x

She was born exactly on her due date and weighed 9lb11. I don't make small ones!! Exciting it's close yes but also terrified I've made the wrong decision and I'll go into labour and be totally destroyed!
How are you feeling? Why will yours be so early?

What week was your daughter born and how much did she weigh? Glad the have compromised with you. Exciting that it is so close.

I’m 33 weeks today had scan, no sign of accreta luckily, scan again in 2 weeks and then birth plan. Section will be 38 weeks latest possibly 37 weeks x

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
38 week scan today...10lb5 Shock
They want me to have my section Monday, and to admit me Saturday morning for steroids and a slide and scale until Monday. I burst into tears and refused. Zero visiting so I'd be saying bye to 4 year old DD Saturday morning until Tuesday at the earliest. I can't do it. I also won't sleep if I'm canulated and being constantly pumped with insulin etc. I don't get it, my blood sugars have been below all the guidelines yet I'm being treated like a proper diabetic.
So the compromise is, I go in every day to be monitored. And any sign of labour I have to get to labour ward quick for a section. The Dr said the baby is way too big to birth, especially after a previous c-section. Feeling super stressed out. And the stupid Placenta hasn't moved Hmm

That's so funny 😂 worth it? Oh no, sure it'll get easier. Bless you though must be stressful.
Nearly time, a week on Thursday. I'm so ready. Not sure about excitement tbh, it doesn't actually feel like I'll ever get a baby out of this!

Feeling amazing somehow! Up and about after no time at all! Staff were brilliant in hospital and all so appologetic about the PPE. They were so helpful though, honestly you don't really think about the Covid stuff once you're in.

Toddler is really struggling, we may have to put him back in nursery sooner than we planned.

How are you?
