@Mimi91 congratulations! What a beautiful name! So sorry to hear you had a traumatic experience. Mine was quite mixed - I gave detailed feedback to the hospital - it helped me process it all!

Hope you're all doing well.
Rory is 3 months old - time is flying!

@MrsS147 bless you, I'm sorry to hear that. In all honesty, when I wrote the post below, it was a bit of a brain dump. Just felt I needed to write some of it down before I forgot some details. The labour, delivery and aftercare were all awful for different reasons and don't think I'm quite ready to fully go back there either.

My sisters are amazing and have bullet pointed things I have told them and the dates these happened, so I can revisit and piece together when ready.

It's easy enough for people to tell you you're just tired and hormonal, but childbirth is crazy intense, so to throw in extra trauma and a pandemic, it's not surprising we're feeling the way we are.

We have done something so incredible though and we still are (on minimal sleep).

Sending love 💕

Congratulations @Mimi91 ❤️ sorry to hear you had a traumatic birth and aftercare. I had a bit of a traumatic labour too, and it really affected my mood these first few weeks, especially with the lack of sleep. I've found talking about it helps a lot and I'm starting to feel a bit better about things. I'll put my birth story here at some point, wanted to wait until everyone had had their babies first!

Hope you're enjoying your time with Orla despite what happened ❤️

I can't believe we all have our babies now! Feels forever ago now that we were all going through the ups and downs of TTC!

Sooo...it's a full set of girls 💕 we did it ladies!!

My beautiful baby, Orla Rose 🧸🌹 came into the world last Monday after a very traumatic labour and delivery. 14 days overdue and a teeny tiny 6lb 12oz.

We have only been home a day after being re-admitted to the hospital twice. I had an epidural that kicked in after the birth and they sent me home only 3 hours later even though I couldn’t walk AND they made me return the next day as the forgot to give me my anti-D injection.

I became very unwell the following day, one doctor told me I had sepsis and probably passed it to baby through breastfeeding (?!!!!) another just said I was a little tired and hormonal. Turns out I had a little infection. The postnatal care I received was dangerously lacking. They wouldn’t take my baby off me when I told them I was passing out, nor would they provide me with a nappy when requested or let my husband bring one to me.

It’s going to take a few weeks to process everything that happened and will be writing a formal complaint once I have the strength. Orla is doing amazingly though and I’m so happy to have her. The worst but best week of my life 💕

Thanks ladies ☺️

Still waiting for a room. I haven't been checked again yet, have absolutely no idea how it's going down there, but did have contractions throughout the night. Not feeling any pain, just nausea at the moment.

Also had a bit of a scare on the monitor this morning, the doctor was literally a minute away from putting a cannula in to get the fluids going, before baby woke up and everything went back to being perfect.

Im going to have my work cut out with this one 😅

@MrsS147 thank you!

So, little update..

I came in at 5pm for my pessary to be put in. They monitored me first and could see I was having regular contractions. Baby's heart rate decelerated twice after two biggies and the doctor was called in and said they weren't happy letting me go home.

The midwife said she would insert my pessary anyway and then take me to the antenatal ward..however..she couldn't do it because I was already 3cm Shock

She gave me a sweep, which was awful because baby's head was sooo low and she had to really get her fingers behind it, I bled quite a bit too, so that wasn't the best!

I'm now on a ward waiting for a delivery room to become available, I think they're gonna try and break my waters. my poor DH is freaking out at home waiting for me to call him in.

I had no drink/dinner, no introduction to the ward, no pain relief offered and no staff in sight (it was staff handover time and they hadn't realised I hadn't been seen).

I have now been fed and got an apology from a senior MW. Contractions are regular, but not painful (yet). Hopefully I'll have a bit more of a positive update soon 🤞

Everly is gorgeous @Crazybunnylady123 🥰

@Mimi91 I had an outpatient induction, it was so nice being able to start things off at home, so much more relaxed than being in hospital! I hope that all goes well today if baby hasn't already appeared! Can't wait for your announcement 😍

@Larrydavid I have no idea how she fit in 😂 I keep looking at her and wondering how she fit! Everyone kept telling me how neat my bump was as well.
I've found some days easier than others. Not getting much sleep, but all is worth it. So glad to hear Rory is doing well - can't believe it's been 11 weeks already!

@Mimi91 you're so close now! Hang in there! Glad you get to spend some induction time with your partner at home. Hopefully you'll be in active labour before you know it! You're a hero getting to 41+9! Amazing. Can't wait to see your baby update! X

@Larrydavid omg 11 weeks already! Glad it's going well ☺️ sounds like you're all acing it.

So.....I'm still very pregnant (sighhh), I'm 40+9 today. I've had 2 sweeps and tried every trick in the book, but had absolutely nothing, boo!

I have an induction booked for Sunday, restrictions are still tight and I have to go in alone. However, my midwife is an absolute saint and spent an hour (4 phone calls) yesterday asking the hospital to let me be induced as an outpatient. I didn't ask her to, but she said I'm so low risk and live less than 5 mins from the hospital...and they agreed 🙌 if nothing happens after 24 hours, I'll have to be admitted onto a ward and have a second induction, but I'm so happy I at least get to labour for the first 24 hours with DH.

I'll probably be begging to go back to the hospital for pain relief 😂 but I'm not feeling too apprehensive..just so done with pregnancy now.

Sorry that was so long!! Hopefully my next update will be a baby picture 😍

Ps. We don't know the sex, but I'm convinced it's a girl.

@Crazybunnylady123 congratulations- everly is gorgeous! Sorry you're not getting much sleep! She looks amazing though!

@MrsS147 she's also gorgeous! All girls so far! I'm only 5ft too and my doctor friend predicted I wouldn't be able to grow a big baby - I think I ran out of space! Shes an amazing size - well done you! How are you finding motherhood?

@Mimi91 eagerly waiting your announcement! Hope you're doing well! Being overdue must be tough but hopefully you've been able to/ will be able to have your partner with you!

Little Rory has been amazing so far. We defs had a difficult pregnancy but since she's been home from hospital, she's been very calm and chilled. She's nearly 11 weeks now. Time is flying!

Hope you're all doing well xx

@Mimi91 I know, she was so worth it. I said this would be my last baby. She does have to be I think. When you cuddle your baby you forget about the puking and backache! 🙂

@Crazybunnylady123 oh gosh, sounds tough! So lovely that she just fits right into the family, you sound smitten. It's hard to imagine having a baby, just feel like I'm going to be pregnant and uncomfortable forever!!!

@MrsS147 omg she's gorg! Love the name too, Hazel was one of our top picks for a girl. Great news about the restrictions being lifted just in time. If I go to be induced, I have to go alone unfortunately, so I'm doing everything to get this baby moving. Getting a little tired of curry now 😂

I keep getting cramps and lightning pain, but no contractions as yet. Will let you know when he or she decides to make an appearance 💛

@Mimi91 sorry to hear you're over due - I went over due too and found it really hard. Baby finally arrived at 41+5 though after being induced! So worth the wait though 🥰 there was the positive that she came the day after visiting restrictions were eased here though so meant DH could visit and spend time with us on the post natal ward, and also me when I was on ante natal ward waiting on a space in the labour ward!

This is Hazel Elizabeth who arrived on 14 July at 2:45pm weighing 8lb 6oz. I'm only 5ft and really petite, all the midwives wondered how she fit in my bump at that weight 😂

Hi,
Yes I have my little girl and I’m so sleep deprived it’s unreal. Complete opposite to my older daughter. She has bad colic and likes to puke but so happy to have her. It’s like she was always here and meant to be.

Hope you're all well, you must all have had your beautiful babies now.

I'm overdue, but have an induction date, so at least I know there IS an end. Can't wait to finally meet my baby, TTC was a really hard journey for me and despite feeling horrendous at times, being pregnant has been amazing (stretch marks and all).

Hope you and your babies are doing okay and you're not TOO sleep deprived BrewThanks

@Larrydavid what a gorgeous name 😍 hope you're enjoying motherhood so far ❤️
I think my hospital is the same, although I've heard people getting to stay in the delivery room for a bit if it's not busy for a bit so partners can hang around, so hopefully not too busy when it's my time!

Can't believe it's June already 😍 not long to go for everyone! So excited for baby announcements!

@Larrydavid 3 weeks left and had enough now. I can’t do much and I hate it, I always like to be busy. I’m still doing a bit of potting in the garden as we are hoping to have the garden finished for
the girls next summer. Still managing some stitching in the evenings some days.
I am definitely counting down till dp is on paternity as I am so much more at ease when he’s around.
Gorgeous name lovely, I will let you know my girls
name after she’s born! Grin

@Mimi91 time really has gone quickly! Though the last 9 months have also felt like they've gone on forever!! When is your due date?

@MrsS147 thank you. She's called Aurora. She's so lovely - so happy to have her home!
I think the hospitals are all offering different guidelines. The one I was in allowed partners during active labour and into c sections but they had to leave quite quickly after the baby's born.

@Crazybunnylady123 you poor thing! You don't have long to go now do you?

Can't wait to see all your baby announcements! X
