Gender theory pattern?

Lj1991 · 08/02/2016 11:12

Hey my husbands auntie has this gender pattern theory I want to test to see if she's right. She said that you will either follow your mum and dads gender pattern or your oh parents gender pattern for example my grandparents had 3 girls my mum and dad had 2 girls, my OH comes from a BBG pattern and we have a boy so by that it should mean my next would be a boy as I'm following MIL pattern. She said were unable to tell if there have been any losses in between. Hope this makes sense please help me prove her wrong haha x

Wow didn't think the theory would cause that it is all fun at the end of the day some people believe different things I personally don't believe it but i wouldn't say it's bollocks that's just rude lol however I find it amusing how you can disagree with the theory giving an example of it working.....

Of course it's bollocks.

Sometimes this "pattern" will appear to happen by chance - e.g. my friend has 2 DS's. Her DH is one of 2 boys, she's the youngest of 3 with 2 older brothers - but that's all it is. Chance.

Every time you have a baby, there's (approximately) a 50:50 chance of a girl/boy. Sometimes this falls out the way it did for your/your DP's parents. Sometimes it doesn't.

It's all entirely random.

The proper way to tell is the wedding ring on a thread.. You dip it up and down, just once for your first, then see whether ring rotates in a circle or goes over and back in a straight line. For second child, you dip it twice.... and so on.....

Shees. Thought everyone knew that!

(I do actually believe in this).

1-how could this possibly be true? Think about it for more than a minute.
2- it's sex. Gender doesn't mean the same thing as sex.

Well its going to be bollocks isnt it. I mean every time a man ejaculates he is getting rid of millions of sperm. Unless you are telling me those sperm get into formation of B,B,G (or whatever pattern you are hoping for) and exit the penis in that order and stay in that order and then somehow telepathically tell the remaining sperm that this time was a Boy so to get in formation for creating a girl next time. Hmm

It's random.

There will always be examples that "prove" the theory, but that's coincidental. It's 50/50 every time.

(Waits for some smarty pants to say ACTUALLY IT'S NOT ALWAYS 50/50. Yeah yeah I know... Grin)

So in our case your theory works so far but will not be having nine children so can't test it any further

I imagine it would reset with a new partner coz they have a different gender background?

I think it's nonsense. We've got GG and they're the first pair of sisters on either side of the family in 4 generations.

There are only two sexes and the majority of people only have a small number of children - 'patterns' are bound to repeat often because there aren't that many possible combinations.

Hello - I think I understand this or am I missing something.

It's the guys line that always decides. This is how we ended up righting the post war years. Getting the male quota back up. Sorry haven't got the research doc to hand.

Something in research said about if the male has a sister more likely to have a daughter first or if a brother will have a son but OH family doesn't follow this. So I think pot luck.

Sex closer to ovulation more likely boy further away more likely girl has the 'faster' boys have dies out with slower girls remaining. Obvoiusly there are stories of women ovulating on queue, earlier in cycle than they were meant too. This has been proven by women of armed forces who when the exact time maybe only once before partner went away that they had sex etc.
