Pregnancy

No morning sickness (yet). Should I be worried?

Hi all,
I'm 6+3 and this is my first pregnancy. Other than a few fleeting moments of feeling sick (this could have been nerves/anxiety) I've not had any sickness or nausea yet. Is it too early to be experiencing this as a symptom or have I just been lucky? I read that morning sickness means a healthier pregnancy but I'm not sure if this was just scaremongering on the internet. I've had other symptoms (sore boobs, mild cramping, tiredness) but no nausea. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks everyone. Felt a bit nauseous today but pretty sure that was a symptom of being back in work! Wink

Mine didn't kick in until week 7 after no sickness whatsoever and it got progressively worse peaking around weeks 9 and 10!
Some people get it and some people don't. Others get it off and on.

Try not to worry Smile

Like lots of pp's I had no morning sickness and only time I had nausea/vomiting was during labour.
The first time I suspected I was pregnant was the night I took my bra off and cried because my boobs were so sore! Not the usual monthly swelling Grin

I'm terrified as I'm only 4 weeks pregnant. Felt awful - nauseous and tired - all last week but it's suddenly stopped. praying for morning sickness to actually 'feel' pregnant!

Kstar8 we must be due around the same time then? Have you joined the August antenatal thread? That is helping to keep me sane!

Purple thank you for the vitamin advice and reassurance. Congratulations- twins!!

Morning sickness isn't compulsory Smile.
I'm on my third pregnancy - 9 weeks in and this one's twins. I've never had more than the occasional wave of nausea - I was sick once when pregnant with ds, but that was because I smelled something really rank Grin.

If you're worried about getting sick down the line, get yourself a good quality b-complex vitamin supplement. There's some evidence that if you take vit B6 before the onset of morning sickness, you're unlikely to get it. Apparently it doesn't necessarily reverse morning sickness if you've already got it, but some people think it can improve things.

Hi I am in the same boat! Just over seven weeks and no sickness but extremely anxious about it kicking in, to the point where I don't want to leave the house just in case I feel ill. I'd say I'm emetophobic as I've only been sick twice in over ten years and I have a panic attack if I feel slightly queasy.
But I'm also worrying that my lack of sickness means things aren't developing or progressing like they should be.
I want to be one of those lucky ladies that just don't get MS but that seems too much to ask for!

Thanks ladies, I know I just need to stop worrying and try and reign in the anxiety. The frustrating thing is that if I did have morning sickness that would make me really anxious too.

For the first few weeks my boobs were practically throbbing, had loads of CM and was really tired. Now my boobs don't hurt as much, CM seems to have dried up and I've got a bit more energy (although I don't go back to work until tomorrow so that may explain the latter!). I'm 7+3 today. POAS yesterday and the line appeared straight away and was darker than the test line. Yet I still can't seem to accept that maybe I AM pregnant and I AM one of the lucky ones who hasn't had sickness. We'd had our first fertility appointment two weeks before my BFP (actually conceived on the day of the appointment!) and I'd convinced myself we wouldn't conceive without help so that might explain my anxious outlook!

You may not get any. With ds1 it was 7 weeks til about 16 weeks and then came back around 32 weeks. This time felt sick (worse than last time) practically from conception til 15 weeks and it's just come back at 29 weeks. Bluuurgh. It's shit. Enjoy feeling good while you can! X

I had no morning sickness, but like Necterines mentioned, if I don't have enough to eat/drink I feel nauseous. Actually nearly fainted due to this during 1st trimester. Make sure you eat enough and regularly :) Congrats!

My mum had 3 children and I had 2 and neither of us had any morning sickness. My daughter had it with one of hers and not the other. Let's hope you're one of the lucky ones op.

Mine started at 7 weeks and it's beginning to ease now at 13.5 weeks. my friend is also pregnant just now at 24 weeks and she hasn't had sickness at all. It may be that it won't happen for you.

I posted the exact same thread about 2 weeks ago when I was 6 weeks, I was worried as well with my lack of ms but have exact same other symptoms you listed there. 8 weeks tomorrow and am feeling it more and more strong now 😞 I wouldn't be worried if I were you. Only 75% of women get it, you could be in the lucky quarter that don't. Although be careful what you wish for!
