Hi everyone.

Just looking for a little support, went in for an early scan today, as been having some brown blood for over a week now, and went in and they gave me the " I'm sorry, its bad news " - Instantly killed me. :(

Ive been told to let it run its cause naturally; as it's the best. :( I'm just VERY unsure as to what I'm to expect, I was told to prepare for clots, but im just so so scared. :(

Anyone have any advice?

xx

Just adding my best wishes for you.

My MC's were all different and we were some times given the wrong advice, I wouldn't do anything differently now I have my family but I did rely on the hospital to tell me to have erpc every time I miscarried and the only time I refused - I was at the end of my tether and really couldn't donit all again - it turned out they were wrong and DD2 is now 11.

Take time for you.

I mc at 10 weeks too.we are all different but I bled alot and had severe pain.I didn't know what to expect either and was shocked when it came out in the sack.a bit of a blur tbh.
When I was pregnant with my ds I bled at 6, 12,13 and 16 weeks. Quite alot actually at 12 weeks with pain and I was convinced I was mc again but he came out absolutely perfect and healthy. So bleeding is not always the end.
Good luck for the scan next week.

Well fingers crossed! Sorry for tmi but I also read that it can happen sometimes when you go for a poop.. (which I'd not been for 3 days as scared to push!:( ) & I'd had the internal scan that day, & was just trauma down there, I don't know! But fingers crossed. I have another scan on the 28th! So long to wait! :( xx

Flowers for you sjd. It's horrible as you feel so helpless. I had blood and brown discharge a couple of times each week up until my 12 week scan and then it completely stopped, so it may not necessary spell bad news. When is your next scan again?x

For what it's worth sjd, I had the same symptoms as you in early pregnancy (around 6 weeks) and was told by the EPU doctor that I was having a miscarriage after not being able to see anything on the scan but they took bloods to monitor HCG levels to make sure it wasn't an ectopic. I was really devastated and almost went home and demolished a bottle of wine to ease the pain but something told me not to until I'd had the HCG results. Well, to cut a long story short it turned out to be a viable pregnancy (HCG levels increased, then scanned for ectopic and finally went back for a scan a week later to see a heartbeat), and my LO is now 12 weeks old.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hoping you have a positive outcome after such a roller coaster xx

Well talking about blood I had full on red blood, for probably 4-5 hours. NHS was absolutely crap, booked a scan for the following week so went private and confirmed baby was ok

OP, never give u hope! xxx

Report
middlings · 19/08/2015 11:49

Definitely see if you can get them to tell your HCG levels so that you will know what the baseline is next time you go in.

What a rollercoaster for you - best of luck.

By the way, I had brown blood for a couple of weeks at that stage with both my successful pregnancies. It's called implantation bleeding. It didn't happen with either of my MCs.

I personally would take hope from the fact that hcg hasn't gone down. Its ideal to double every 48 hours (ish) but doesn't have to, as long as it's staying up
I absolutely don't want to put your hope up, but don't rely 100% on the initial scan, hence they do blood work as well
And what did they mean when they said you miscarried? did they say there was no sac? no heartbeat? are they being a bit vague maybe?
you could call and ask for your hcg exact number if you like, but it's up to you. If you don't want to put your hopes up, its only fair
take care xxx

What am up and down time for you. Flowers

Is there any possibility that your dates are wrong, as you seem to be a full month out.

I really hope it works out well for you, I have my fingers crossed for you xx

They didn't say, but it was still "high" which instead of taking more blood, they scanned instead. . So I don't really know what to make of it. X
