Strange sensation under right breast

I'm now 27 + 3 with my first pregnancy.

From very early on in the pregancy I had a tingling/numb sensation under my right boob. I progressively got worse and I also started getting muscular type pain around the same area, spreading to my back.

Had a massage which didn't help so went for physio and it was explained that it was simply due to a trapped nerve and my ribs spreading/being squashed.

Physio exercised have helped but the pain has now changed and it's now more of a stingy/burning pain but only under my boob. It is also quite itchy as the day goes on and I do have a couple of what look like small spots in the area.

MW doesn't seem bothered and generally all else is going well although there were some deficienies in my recent bloods and I had to get more taken on Friday so waiting for the results of this (hemoglobin was 11 but other bloods were a bit "off" according to the MW).


I'm assuming they are unrelated but I have read about possible liver inflamation during pregnancy and wonder if there might be a link so will await the results.

Anyone else have anything similar? I'm worried that it's only going to get worse as pregnancy progresses and baby starts taking up even more space!

Ooh I had this in both pregnancies, thought it was just me being freaky!

I've had this my entire pregnancy (now 34 weeks) never had it with DS1 but I get it everyday now. It isn't painful but extremely annoying - no one knows what it is and there isn't much info online either. DefinAtely better when I've had my bra off for a few hours though - not much advice but can DefinAtely sympathise!

I had a tingly numbness in the same place and it developed into a really nasty burning sensation, like muscle was being ripped off my ribcage - so bad I could hardly wear a bra for weeks and weeks.
Pain radiated around entire rib cage and was horrible.
Never got to the bottom of what caused it (had liver function test for suspected cholestasis of pregnancy but liver was fine) and bizarrely it just vanished at about 28 weeks, after about 10 weeks of fluctuating between being irksome and agonising!
Hopefully it will vanish for you too and won't give you rib pain.

I had something very similar to what you describe, pain like a pinching burning pain under right breast and as the pregnancy wore on it radiated round to my back. Sad to say I had it throughout the pregnancy and was in quite a bit of pain but as soon as I had ds it went away. I just put it down to the extra weight I was carrying.

Sorry just to add my bloods have always been 100% spot on so don't think it would be due to that! I think it's just things pushing up etc, sadly mine lasted the whole way through my pregnancies a from around 26 weeks, in fact I'm 38+2 now and have it right at this moment, I find it gets worst as the day goes on and when I'm sitting down

I'm on my 4th pregnancy and have had Excatly the same every time though mines always under my left breast! It's a hard feeling/sensation to explain really isn't it? It doesn't hurt but it's uncomfortable and like you say almost a numb feeling, I have mentioned it before to midwifes but never really foound out what caused it!
