I was working away from home so I tested alone, in a Premier Inn. I didn't think it was fair to tell my partner we were going to have a baby over the phone so had to keep it to myself until the Friday night. It was a long 4 days!

Great news Lea2014, glad it worked out for you. If the cb test screen says 3+ weeks you need to add 2 weeks on so you're are 5+ weeks pregnant. To get an estimated due date use the date your last period started. Congratulations

Congratulations!

I was on my own, and didn't tell boyfriend until later that evening. I wanted to absorb the information myself first (it was a bit of a shock).

Just saw this thread, any update OP? First time I tested alone and then told my DH who was in the living room oblivious to what I was doing. I needed that time to absorb the news whichever way it was. Second time I waited for a while before sharing the news with DH...But that was because we were heading out to meet up with people and my DH has a hard time keeping happy news to himself. First pregnancy I asked him to hold off sharing the news just for the weekend and he told his mom the first night, not realising that I REALLY wanted us to be able to share the knowledge alone for a little bit! Everyone knew by that first week I think! So that is why I held out telling him immediately this time! But to be fair he discussed it with me BEFORE sharing with the world this time :)

I always tested on my own. Only told DH when it was BFP or if he asked to confirm whether I was safe to go boozing.

I'm glad you're testing, Lea : )

I POAS on my own because I was trying about 3 days before I was due on, just because I felt like I was pregnant but I knew if I told my DH he'd say to wait. Got the faintest of lines on a IC. Ignored it because I thought I was seeing things. Went down and ate dinner and took it out of my pocket and thought I could still see something, so asked DH if he could see anything on it. He said, "what, that faint pink line there?" And that's how he found out. Next few tests we took together, but I needed the space to deal with that first one on my own. But everyone's different!

Very good luck with yours : )

Buy 2 one for the morning JIC (I went so crazy I basically POAS if left unsupervised with one for more than 5 minutes so only bought them if necessary!)

Yes, go for a digital one to be absolutely clear. Sometimes the 'is there a line or isn't there' debate makes you more stressed, not less!
