Pregnancy

Is 9 weeks the worst bit of the first trimester?

Please tell me it is. If I'm not constantly eating, I'm nauseous. I'm not eating anything good either - I can't stomach meat or veges so I'm on a constant diet of bland carbs - biscuits and bread. I still chuck up toxic yellow sludge every so often. Nice! I'm shattered - slept 6.30pm - 7am last night & called in sick today as I still feel like I've been run over by a truck.

I'm 9+4 - please tell me this won't last too much longer?

week 9 was the worst and I was exactly the same - constantly eating or nauseous. Gained loads of weight. Week 10 lost symptoms for a couple of days and panicked that something was wrong (had private scan - all okay). They came back intermittently until week 14 ish but each week got easier. 8 and 9 were just simply awful. The exhaustion lasted until week 14 for me. Now 21 weeks and feeling really good the last few weeks, enjoying healthy food and lifestyle, but bump starting to get in the way now!!

I think I've come out of it!! Touch wood.

Dry heaving this morning but no vomming today or yesterday, and last night we actually went out for a proper meal! Admittedly I had ravioli, nothing very adventurous, but still! It had vegetables in it! I even had a sip of DH's pinot noir!

Happy days! What a difference a week makes.

Hope you are all feeling better as well.

Thanks lou! My dh was giving off at me for not eating properly but his helpful sister (there is also a bit so helpful one) had a good talk to him about how it's good that I'm eating atm and not to worry about what I'm eating. Since then he has been a total star.

I think we should create a glow monitor! My hair is dry and my face is dry but with spots- I'm definitely a minus 100 on glow!!

Martie1 I'm 24+5 and I'm still waiting on the 'glow'! Ha!
Don't worry about what your eating just now, my midwife said at the start as long as your eating at the minute she wasn't too bothered. It gets easier to eat more healthy when you get further on and not feeling sick all the time. I ate my way through the nausea feeling cos that's the only thing that stopped me feeling sick. x

gennz snap, im 9wks today and been feeling horrendous now for 2 weeks, and been really weepy since Friday. I cannot look at vegetables or meat at all, but am good with fruit, chips and crisps!! And i did nothing yesterday but was wrecked come the evening. I am totally with you on this. Thank you for the lol on getting another dog, i regularly think- what the hell were we thinking! And the mcdonalds sound so tempting......i had a curry chip for dinner last night with lashings of salt and vinegar. So healthy! I hate myself most of the time for being a terrible pregnant woman and i am still waiting on the 'glow'.

9-10 absolutely the worst. Absolutely. Also 39-41 but that's miles away Wink

Hang in there. By 12 weeks I was feeling okish and by 16 pretty normal again, just a bit tired. I eat normally again now!

I'm now 10+1 and feeling a lot better.... vomiting really violently in the morning but then ok for the rest of the day. And the McDonalds cravings seem to have passed. I'll take that!

Oh god this thread has made me feel better. 9 weeks tomorrow and feel like fifty shades of shite. As I recall morning sickness started around this point during my first pg. this time it started at 5weeks and has been easily twice as bad. (Twins?) I've hit a new low this weekend, don't even want to describe the horrors hitting toilet basin today. At least I know I'm not alone though!

Weeks 9-11 were awful. I was constantly sick and so tired I'd crawl up the stairs and lie in bed with my coat and shoes on after work on numerous occasions. Once lay on the stairs crying in fact! Could only eat bland white carbs like toast or rice cakes. 25 weeks now and so much better!

Week 9 and week 10 were definitely the worst! I'm only 12 weeks now and I do get some symptoms but nowhere near as bad in fact I think I'm even starting to forget how bad it was stupid body always covers up the horrendous to con you into doing it again Wink

Week 9 was the only week I was physical sick. Hit week 10 today and feel better already!

I felt exactly the same at 9 weeks as you describe - we went away to Budapest for the weekend and I spent most of my time walking around crying. It's awful.

Mine cleared up seemingly overnight at 12 weeks, I'm now 18 weeks and MUCH happier Smile

Hope it eases up for you.

For me the sickness lasted longer BUT after about 11-13 I could eat more different things AND I started to get some energy back, which makes a HUGE difference even if you are still throwing up. I also found a few more foods I could stomach, including some slightly healthier things (like carrots and tinned sweetcorn, plums, oranges), and the joy of boiled sweets. Saved by Pear drops. And those rhubarb and custard ones. I'm amazed all my teeth haven't fallen out!

Hang on in there, and don't worry about eating crap. I couldn't look at a vegetable for weeks, but doesn't seem to have done LO any harm (except that she is a week late already and obviously MUCH too comfy in there...!). Just take it a week at a time.

Was for me too! Sick 2-3 times a day, exhausted week 8-10 ... better by week 12, only been sick once since week 14. So it can get a LOT better. FX that happens for you.

Once you hit the second trimester you will be fine, that's the best bit and you actually get to enjoy being pregnant. Now the third......well that's another matter but hey babies are cute Smile

Yes. I've only been sick twice (on the same day) during this pregnancy and I'm pretty sure it was around week 9/10 that I did that. 12 weeks now, an I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
