Anyone else get 'evening' sickness with no 'morning' sickness?

Hi Ladies,

Just wondered if anyone else suffers evening sickness with no 'morning' sickness. I know morning sickness can occur all day long (sorry to those who suffer!), but I wake up feeling pretty much fine, might feel a bit nauseous if I dont eat breakfast quickly, and lunch at midday, but its the late afternoon/evening I start to really feel grotty. But the time by husband has cooked my dinner (yes i'm a lucky lady) I just can't face eating it. I'm only 9 weeks, and I remember feeling like this much later on in my previous 2 pregnancies (from 20 weeks onwards). I though preg hormones are at their highest first thing, so no idea why I feel so grotty last thing in the day...anyone else suffer the same?

I got both with DS's (yay) but only morning with DD

Good news is antihistamine sleep aids reduce nausea, so that helped me.

I am 6 weeks with no morning sickness. I tend to get sickly in the afternoon or night. Yesterday I found myself nearly vomiting while driving at 6pm. Feeling scared there is no morning sickness but read online this is normal.

It's called 'morning sickness' as it occurs (although I agree not exclusively!) in the 'morning' of your pregnancy I.e the first trimester. Personally I feel sick all day and all night! But seems to be starting to improve now I'm 10 weeks.

Hope you all feel better soon!

I'm 12 and for 2 1/2 weeks I've kept felling nausea in the evening starting at around 17:30. I fell fine in the morning until 17:30 then I fell bad until bed when it gets a little bit better.

Yep, I am ten weeks and feel awful as the day progresses, I thought I was going to throw up at school pick up today. It Def gets worse the more tired I get until I puke or go to bed, taking a bowl with me to bed.

I am now 6 and a half weeks and yea for me the evening sickness is awful.
Only way I can describe it is feeling queezy, my stomach all achey and sicky. Making dinner makes me feel even worse

YES! I was just about to start a post with the exact same title!! Oh thank god this is normal. I'm 12 weeks, and it's only in the last 2 weeks that this has started.

Does anyone else feel generally weak and wobbily? I got up this morning and then spent the afternoon in bed because I felt like I couldn't stand up. My knees were wobbling. I feel much better now though, although had to cancel dinner at the in-laws (which is sad bcause they are wonderful).

Yes, almost feels like it's gone now in the mornings (am 14 weeks). It's been worst at night since the start, I often go to bed with a sick bowl handy! But have not yet thrown up, just felt sick, thank god.

I'm also feel progressively worse as the day goes on. I start vomiting when I just open the fridge to see what to cook for dinner.

But the weirdest thing was last night, hubby's birthday and I booked us a table at a lovely Thai restaurant and while he fetched the babysitter I was hugging the toilet bowl wondering how I was going to get through the night.

So I have a cream cracker which immediately comes back up again. I really thought I was going to ruin his birthday meal - we go - I have a careful bite of his duck salad, mmm then order red thai beef curry and a roti - yum!! Have most of it and then a hot chocolate to finish it off - no sickness.

Really weird as I haven't had meat in a while - think I must try eating proper meals or something....

Yes, exactly the same as icravecheese! Evening sickness would start when i got home from work and by the time my lovely BF had spent ages cooking dinner I could barely eat a mouthful. Luckily, I am 13 weeks now so it's eased off a bit (still sometimes feel sick) and am starting to eat dinners again - yay!!

I used to have all-day-all-night sickness, but thankfully I get the mornings off now ar 21 weeks and it doesn't really kick off badly until the evening : )

yup; I've been fine all day. now mumsnetting and trying not to think about throwing up!

Yes I had this, and so did my mum. I think the loong stretch between lunch at 12 and dinner at 8 does it. Cooking dinner is really unpleasant. Smile

I've been feeling like this too - I feel as bright as a button in the mornings, but come mid afternoon I feel pretty yucky... then by the evening I feel horrendous!

For me, a pattern eventually emerged where the nausea would start after lunch, and stick around until bedtime. I was glad I didn't feel too bad in the mornings, would have made getting to work really unpleasant.

I had exactly the same with both mine - it used to come on just as I finished work at 4pm. I had to eat a decent meal by 4 otherwise I couldn't face anything until the next morning - and the smell of DH cooking his tea was so awful I just used to go to bed at 7pm!

charitygirl · 16/03/2011 15:08

Exactly the same - 10 weeks, second time around. I hate feeling so horrendous when I'm going to bed.

Report
notasausage · 16/03/2011 13:30

Have had this both times. Felt fine in the morning as long as I don't do anything before eating breakfast then by tea time feel like hell. 2nd time round it was taking me ages to get to sleep at night as I felt so sick.

I am the same - nausea starts around 4pm and lasts until I go to bed, then I feel fine in the morning as long as I eat breakfast early. I think I was the same with DD too.

I'm really grateful it's this way round as it means I can get through work OK, although I'm only 9+4 and definitely showing already - ho hum!

Report
MrsBloomingTroll · 16/03/2011 12:32

Yes, I was the same. It does pass.

Report
MooMooFarm · 16/03/2011 12:09

I used to get this - I put it down to tiredness, as it would also be worse if I had not gotten enough sleep the night before.

I tried having a nice little nap after lunch with DC1 and it helped - unfortunately couldn't do that with my other DC!
