DD is in year 1 and reading on level 4, and eating maths for breakfast :)
DS is 3 next month and is incredibly hard to parent as he is very challenging. I've been told he is 'spirited'. Hmmm.
Had I had him first, No 2 might never have come!!!

But he is lovely too.

I'm working FT, feeling the guilt about FT childcare hey ho.

DD has lost her 2 front teeth - Numbers 4 and 5 to fall out. Her bottom front teeth are all adult.

Well ds1 is now in year 7 and Toby is in year 1.
His op went well and he had his adenoids out too.
He is having bereavement counselling ATM and it will be his second appt this week.

ninja I wondered if you'd met someone. I think that him having a DD the same age as you will be a big help.

Hi - I've not been here for ages. I do think of you all and keep up with some of you on FB.

If you've been there you may have noticed that I've met someone. He's based a 4 hour drive away which is a bit of a shame but we've managed to make it work so far! He's very lovely and supportive and has a daughter the same age as Maebh :)

Happy to answer questions if any of you come back ;)

Meg - that's really positive. I've often wondered if they'd do anything about adult diagnosis so I'm glad to hear that they do.

Badvoc - sounds like a hard few months but glad that your boys are doing well at school now.

Well, things have been very busy here...
My aunt sadly passed away in March. Very hard.
Since then my mum has also lost a sister.
Poor Toby has had a really rough time since feb with illness...tonsillitis every 4-6 weeks so he had an adenotonsilectomy on Tuesday!
He was very brave and I am so proud of him.
His end of year report was excellent - even though his attendance was only 75%.
Ds1 did well in his sats and is growing up fast :)
Dh is very busy with work as per.
It will be a year since dad died next Sunday...still seems unreal.

Oh good Meg! Let us know if the CBT etc is helpful. Dn is being assessed for ASD having been referred by both Camhs and speech & language teams, and clearly has difficulties along those lines , so any tips appreciated. He seems much less anxious at our house than most other places, so that's good.
Ds has been referred to ed psych services about his eating by one teacher, though other teachers say he's slowly eating more. He seems content with school dinners apart from not eating many components, so I'm not that worried but all the people includong MrNC who claim they aren't pressuring him to eat but then go "go on, how about this, would you like that, it's only xxx, are you sure? Are you really sure?"are doing my head in...

Dd is charming, almost non-,violent now! And we have a warm weatherproof extension, but boy is fitting out taking forever!

That's great news Meg :) any idea the timescales for the referral? I'm so sorry you've had to wait so long for your diagnosis. How did your DD's appointment go?
I've finally reset my mumsnet password, and got a smartphone and (sort of) worked out how to use it, boom!
the kids are great but life is just really really busy, and DH has been away with work all week.

I have good news! I got my official, NHS ASD diagnosis on friday . It took 40yrs but we got there in the end. It was a team of 4 assessing me and speaking to my mum for an hour or so. After we left mum said they told her they spotted it in me straight away and they didn't need to delve too much. The psychiatrist was lovely after he gave me the diagnosis, he acknowledged I must be exhausted trying to be 'normal' all the time, I can blag it but it does leave me anxious and depressed. So they're referring me to support services and some CBT now.

DD has her first paed apt tomorrow. This will be interesting .

How's everyones kitchens / extensions / DC's?

Hello all.
Life got a lot better for a month as the kids got into their new rooms and I managed to quit breastfeeding (dd was totally unbothered by that but rather miffed she doesn't have a king size bed in her room!)

Then medical stuff and work stuff and ill ILs and general lurgy hit.

Building work... well the buildings part is done, the builders are back to plasterboard tomorrow and then plaster. Unfortunately MrNC has the time management skills of the average mayfly and has been 'just finishing first fix which will take a couple days' since January. He has until 9am. I have managed not to kill him. Or the carpenter who has at least turned up each day for the last month swearing he only needs 1-2 more days. It really is getting there...

In my defence I hid the post-natal topic a while ago because I didn't need to see 'expecting in 2014' threads popping up in active convos(slightly irrelevant for me!). So I always forget to pop by. I also hid AIBU, MN is very odd without it .

We're still here too, racing towards half term! Its been a good few weeks, busy but manageable thankfully.
I fear DS3 will need to be weaned in the next month, and DS2 probably outght to be potty trained. But for now things are fine just the way they are!

NC same here waking the kids for first day back! We've seen people every day of the holidays, had lots of late nights and lazy mornings, so this was a shock to the system. meglet we've had lots of troublesome behaviour here too! Although I'm a natural extrovert, since having children I've discovered inner introvert tendencies, and I really do need some quiet time to myself. Over the holidays I was keen to spend time with the big kids while the little ones napped, which was wonderful, but I'm peopled out now and so glad to reclaim the quiet time in the middle of the day. On which note, they're both asleep, so I'm going to put the kettle on

A is back at school today! I had to pick him up to get him to wake up, poor sleepy thing. And MrNC was working yesterday - poor chap hasn't really had a break yet thanks to all the building stuff (we do now have intact roofs but still giant window holes). Going to have to get him to chill out over a couple weekends, though his moonlightng project that was supposed to be fnished in Sept is still going...
I'm tired too but thankfully not back at work until late next week, so will have 2 days with no children! :)

Was a nice week with kids and family visiting and all, but didn't get to spend much time with MrNC as he had to fix things every time there was a storm.

Next school hols I'm booking activities almost every day. Mine have been either fighting or bouncing off the walls these last 2 weeks. I wasn't exactly glad about being back at work today but at least I didn't have to shout all day.

Our low-key Christmas is being even simpler than planned, but I have sufficient food in the house that just needs a go in the oven or microwave, we now have a tree that just needs decorating, the kids had fun cutting out Christmas cookies this morning (shame the chocolate wouldn't melt to decorate them and the glistening ones stuck to the pan), and MrNC has promised fathfully that he is stopping building work by 6pm tomorrow.

He has been busting guts to get all plumbing and wiring done so builders can put floorboards in tomorrow. Unfortunately this means the skylights havent been put in (and the manufacturers have been much cursed for claiming they could be done in an hour alone - two people in six hours each more like), so he's spending almost as much time replacing tarpaulins. A wall blew down but thankfully it was the garden wall not part of the house. The fence along the top is still intact!

Last bits can wait till tomorrow - I'm not walking out again today.
