Sorry just seen this myself.

LaT - good to see you, will keep an eye out on other threads - though you'll mostly find me in Good Housekeeping now as I try (& mostly fail!) to get organised in this house of chaos!

Simps - so glad the job is going so well.

All good here, well apart from DH who's been ill with gallstones & pancreatitis & complications since mid-Oct. I'm fed up with it all and not being a good nurse.

T is well, doing well at school which is a relief after some early wobbles.
H is brilliant, loving school, had a speaking part in his nativity, aww. Still some wobbles with toilet training but we are mostly there in the day. Have to face the night time thing at some point...
M is fab, if tiring and head-doing-in. She's so switched on it's scary at times.

Christmas was good, my in-laws were here and drove me slightly crazy but they mean well.
Skylanders/Minecraft, Thomas & Frozen were the main themes :)

Sorry, just seen this now!

Job going brilliantly I truly love it & cannot believe I get paid to do what I do.

Had my first observation a couple of weeks ago which went brilliantly.

Kids all good, J doing amazingly well with football & M has finally outgrown all her intolerances so can eat whatever she wants.

What is everyone getting their DC for Christmas??

We have a zombie thread alert!

I have changed my name from LaTrucha, so you will know me now if you ever see me about on here. Perhaps this is the last post on our thread after nearly seven years. I really enjoyed it and think of you all fondly.

Oh, and what happened about the job Simpson?

Happy belated birthday to T!

Funeral was ok, loads of people came which was nice.

She has been cremated and her ashes are being buried at a later date.

Totally knackered, just got back from a yr1 school trip!

In bad traffic heading to inlaws and remembering that I actually don't like going to theirs.
And forecast for sunday is terrible.
Ho hum roll on Monday when we come home, I may be the only person wishing away the bank holiday weekend!

Holidays going ok here, though H reminds me on a regular basis why I love his school so much!
M drives me just as crazy in the hols as during term time, lol & sigh.
T is very good, but mostly wants to stay in pjs & watch tv/play in I devices.

Off to PIL this weekend for M's birthday trip to Peppa Pig World, her & H really really excited, I'm sceptical as we're actually going on Easter Sunday (her actual birthday) and I think it'll be rammed.

How are people coping with the holidays? My 2 have not stopped killing each other Grin

J started karate a few weeks ago due to the bullying at school and has only had 3 lessons and is already ready to go for his first belt

He played in his first footie match last week and I couldn't watch as had to take M to a party but his coach rang me afterwards to say J was "man of the match" and has a real talent at football and could go far

How's the tennis? I have just started S in basketball and very, very surprisingly she is something of a whizz at shooting hoops.

A conversation for Mother's Day that I thoguht you'd enjoy:
In bed this morning having a cuddle, S says:
It's Mother's Day tomorrow!
ME: It's MD tomorrow, S.
S: NO! Today.
ME: Today is Saturday, MD is on Sunday.
S: It's today!
ME: Ok.
S: You meany mummy. It's today! It's today.
Me: Fine.
(Hits me)
Me: I don't think I like MD!

Will be glad when half term is over!

They are back at school on Monday.

M's party went really well and wasn't as bad as I expected Grin

But this week (half term) M has discovered google and has been begging to use my iPad all the time to google random facts about the Tudors (current obsession) and utube for 1 direction (other obsession).

I have booked her tennis lessons for after school starting next week (course of 6) she is beside herself with excitement and its good for her to do something without J.

Hello all. I suppose you are all braving half term? Ours in Wales starts tody - whic is a good tip by the way if you want to book a Welsh holiday in the English half term - Wales is always a week later.

Ah Filly, I was almost on the train when I saw your post! But too late. How was the castle?

S is exhausted. Her teacher told me prudly that she swam by herself with arm bands for the first time yetserday. I was a bot Confused as she has been able to do that since she was a toddler! It seems she has been lapping up the attention of not being able to do it Shock or perhaps not shock...

All M's invites went out yesterday. Thank goodness her party is not this weekend as there may have been a sickness epidemic due to the school. There are 3 yr1 classes and I go in and read with the other 2 (not M's on Friday) and one of the teachers had gone home at lunch time (sick) and the other teacher was not allowed to leave (as no cover) and she threw up 7 times but was still carrying kids book bags/lunch boxes etc so probably spread it to all the kids Hmm

Blush Oops...course it was Simpson Grin

30 kids coming to T's party on Sunday - thank goodness we're doing it in the unbelievably cheap Sea Cadets hall down the road, and a very old friend, who recently took up entertaining full time, has offered to do it for 'mates rates' :)

Even so, gin may well be called for Grin

Oh, I forgot I also got her a DS game (£4 from Game) which she loves - art attack.

M's birthday was today too Smile

She had a fab day and her teacher really made a fuss of her which was nice.

The new scooter was a big hit as is the origami, the ukulele book and the Usborne book of kings and queens my brother got her.

M's party is not till the 16th but she wants 22 kids there, I feel I may need gin! Grin

T's birthday today....felt very emotional (and quite proud of the fairly funky rock princess look she rocked for school) :)

Party looking on Sunday, so I still have a Princess Castle (eek) birthday cake to build, assemble and ice...sadly. we have a friends' 40th on Saturday night so I can see a slightly frantic Saturday afternoon coming up. Haven't planned it at all but hopefully will be able to wing it...

Unless LaT fancies a trip to London??? Grin

We got T a bit of a mish-mash of stuff this year: a Nintendo DS (off ebay - surprisingly cheap and very fab - A has one already) with 2 games; the 'Belle' outfit she's been asking for for about a year; some Hama beads; some sparkly hairbands (thank you Claire's Accessories sale!) and the Little Miss box set (the Book People had them on special offer in my office before xmas).

MIL got her Lego Friends and Fimo, so with the Hama beads we're definitely good on fine motor skills development activities :) :)

Love to all - and happy birthday to M for tomorrow! xx

Hi all :)

H had a great football party yesterday, loved it all.
Managed to make a pretty successful (if I say so myself) football cake which was actually edible too Grin

His fave presents seem to be a pin-art thingie (you know where you put your hand in and see the shape of it in the pins on the other side?), a wind-up torch and of course a new Thomas friend (Mavis).

We bought him a new (off ebay) Maxi scooter (so it'd be the same as T's), a new meerkat and some Thomas bits.

Thinking of getting him some football kit but quite Shock at the prices. Any tips?

Hope everyone's LO's have great birthdays too :)

Hope all the birthday celebrations are going well?

It is M's big day on Thursday!

In the end I have bought M: an iscoot (cheaper version of maxi scooter), book on how to play the ukulele, school register, praise pads and stickers with "well done!" ink stamps (to play schools with), microscope with blank glass slides, Matilda DVD, origami book.

Tried to book her party today but had no joy as there was no one to take the booking Hmm so my mum will try tomorrow.
