3 cats, all from rescue home. They are our children and we take endless pictures of them and talk to people about them in a proud parent kind of way. Not sure how they will feel when real baby comes along in November though..

When I was growing up I had
two white mice
seven gerbils
two guinea pigs and two rabbits
a dog
three cats
a horse
two calfs
two goats
a duck and six hens
etc etc etc

Now I have nothing. Not even a sea monkey. Pets are messy and hard work. I already have a child and I have that area of my life covered.

2 Cats, 2 Tortoises, and the ashes of my old cat. I can't move and leave him behind so I don't scatter the ashes, I'm determined not to become so attached to the others!

Can we include all the pets we've had over the years who currently RIP in the garden?

1 noisy German Shepherd bitch called Jess and 1 very serene goldfish called Billy. My dh won the fish at a fairground a few months after we got together - it's his tenth birthday soon (fish not dh!!).

Our house is a magnet for wild animals and we often have weird and wonderful visitors. In our living room we have had:

1 pipistrel bat
1 young rook
1 slow worm (a type of legless lizard)
1 wood mouse (very cute )
and I've lost count of how many baby frogs!
Plus the whole house is full of butterflies in the summer, in fact we have named it Butterfly Cottage.

Must be built on some sort of animal ley lines!!

we used to have a budgie, which wasn't actually ours to start off with. It was my brothers but mum looked after it then mum died and my grandparents took it, but granny became allergic to it so we ended up with it.

It was a daft budgie we had it for 10 years and not once did it come out of it's cage to fly around, I think it was agrophobic, used to have big flapping tantrums and drive everybody mad. He went to meet his maker last year and now we have no pets.

Wouldn't mind a cat one day though, maybe once dd2 is a bit older.
when I was younger I had hamsters and my brother had goldfish first one was named Jaws and they followed in succession up to Jaws 10.
