Fund more research into DIPG brain tumours, which are almost universally fatal.

Calling all mums and dads!

I urgently need your help - in April 2016 my best friend's 6-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour called DIPG. DIFFUSE INTRINSIC PONTINE GLIOMA (DIPG) is an aggressive cancerous tumour that is located at the base of the brain, it has a very poor average prognosis of 9 months from diagnosis and is inoperable with currently no known cure. It predominantly affects children between 4 and 10 years of age. So basically it's a 9 month death sentence for an innocent child!

This campaign has already attracted the interest of local press and many supporters including national MPs and well known tv and Olympic sports celebrities.

Hopefully with your help and support we can reach the requisite 100,000 signatures by the 3rd December 2016, to persuade the UK Government to increase funding for more research into DIPG brain tumours with a hope to one day finding a cure so that no parents in the future need suffer the same fate.

PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE THE FOLLOWING PETITION

LATEST UPDATE:

Kaleigh's parents would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the supporters of their recent HOC Petition, which sadly ended on 03/12/16. Unfortunately it did not reach the required target to have it debated in Parliament!

So please seek it in your heart to submit your signature and kindly share this vital Change.org petition Worldwide, as this would greatly give us and all other DIPG suffering families a massive morale boost with a glimmer of hope!
"Save the Dream, Save the Children!"

Kick out 2016 and let's hope 2017 will bring the miracles we hope for!

Quote by Kaleigh's parents: "The Lau's cannot wait to see the end of 2016! It's been a mentally draining, testing and just outright f**king awful year for us. However, 2017 will not be any easier and we need to stay focused to battle this illness with Kaleigh, as we are already 8.5 months into a typical 9 month journey where many of these little brave fighters gain their heavenly wings.

We can tell you now, Kaleigh & we are not ready for this, as she loves life too much and we can not bear to see anything happen to our precious daughter and sister to Carson. She is such a wonderful, kind and caring girl, we are just so proud of her in every single way. Please continue to rally around us, as we need all the support we can get.

We will continue to throw everything at this tumour to ensure we get the result she deserves. Miracles do happen and with all the continued prayers and army of well wishers, we just hope it happens to Kaleigh. She is a real fighter!

We would love to sincerely thank everybody for the continued support for #teamkaleigh. We wouldnt have been able to achieve everything that we have achieved if it wasn't for you guys, we really mean this from the bottom of our hearts.

Yes......Boot Camp Scottie resurfaced, but without the team spirit nothing would have been achieved. Success is based on teamwork not individuals. We are just so lucky to have so many guiding shining stars (you know who you are) within #teamkaleigh to be able to raise awareness and make a difference for the DIPG community through our Marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k runs, Government Petition, Kaleigh Bear Campaign, DIPG nomination challenge, cake sales, taking part in parliment debates and meeting with Department of Health etc.

We really hope 2017 brings love, happiness and miracles to all, but especially Kaleigh where her life is prolonged and enough to find a cure.

Early 2017 will be critical to us, please continue to support teamkaleigh, pray for Kaleigh and help make a difference for DIPG. Let's change the statistics by seeking funding for more research to find a cure.

Thank you again for everything, we just can not say enough thank you's to everyone love Scott, Yang, Kaleigh and Carson."

Kaleigh Update: "What a fantastic day at the X Factor, Thank you to "The Brain Tumour Charity" for the invite. Everybody was truly wonderful, Matt Terry gave Kaleigh a lucky charm bracelet, Emily & Ryan spent a lot of time with K and carrying her around the place, 5 After Midnight made a huge effort to talk to us and even invited us back tomorrow, Honey G with a special Rap.....It brought a huge smile to Kaleigh and Carson's face......also meeting all the judges as well wow wow wow! If there was a dream Kaleigh ever wanted, this would have been high up on her list."

A plea to all parents,
Time's running out, our petition must end on 3rd December 2016!
We need to hit that magic number 100,000 signatures to push the UK Government to reconsider their approach to the funding of research for DIPG brain tumours in children.

Many people have already backed this campaign, including numerous MPs, web bloggers, famous celebrities like Olly Murs (X-Factor, TV, chart-topping artist), Mo Farah (double double gold Olympian), Jonas Blue (chart-topping DJ artist), Lego's Red Fire Ninja, James Guy (double silver Olympian), Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf/Kryten), Huw Edwards (BBC News anchorman), Louisa Preston (BBC news), Alex Jones and Matt Baker (BBC The One Show) to name a few!

But we still need your help, please sign our petiton and share amongst your social friends and family. Thank you!

I've signed the petition for government support and will be asking other mum's and friends to sign too.

Be strong dear, prayers with you all...

Other mum's on this website please spare a few minutes signing the government petition too, this could happen to any poor baby.
