Is defiantly going to end up as the accepted spelling for definitely?

But defiantly is a word in its own right. So no.

I haven't seen it used instead of definitely, but then perhaps I just haven't noticed.

The theory that it's an autocorrect thing makes sense.

I just typed 'definat' (for 'definately') & autocorrect gives defiantly

That'll be where it's coming from. I've seen it a lot recently

Yeah I don't get this one. It's just a totally different word. Unlike loose which is kind of understandable! Maybe it always comes up first in predictive text or something.....

Two different words, how can you confuse them?
I know it's bad but I can't understand, if you cannot spell there are things to help you......like a dictionary.
