I’m at my wits end and need some help!
my DS2 (aged 3) is/was generally good on the potty, and is completely dry at nursery, when our and about or with my parents/grandparents, but at home it’s now endless “accidents”, which he does whilst laughing, and announcing that he’s had an accident, then standing up and peeing instead of rushing to the loo.
I have a feeling that it’s school holiday related (he’s out of his routine) although we keep as much of his routine the same as we can (bath/bed routines & wake up times, mealtimes etc, although I know I can’t recreate his school environment at home!), and although I am a SAHM, I’m exhausted trying to keep him entertained, as well as trying to engage with ds1.
but more recently (as in this week) he’s started blaming his brother (ds1, aged 9) for everything, including “accidents”… even wakes up in his sleep and tells me, for example that “ds1 stole my drink”.
In response to us trying to explain to him that his brother didn’t do anything (he’s usually not even in the same room, as he’s been avoiding DS2 because of this, so it’s actually something I’ve usually said/done which resulted in him not getting his own way)or explain why whatever upset him happened, he will have an accident and say that he did it because ds1 upset him. 🤦♀️
roll on September! But does anyone have any advice?
