Hi there - left it very late,,,but need to find halloween costumes for one pre-teen and four year old tomorrow. ideas on best place to go ? am in london.

If you don't need anything impressive, then the cheapest and easiest place is probably Poundland if you have one near you. Your largest local supermarket (Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys) will probably have a decent selection. H&M children's department will have some options. If you want something specific and are in South London, Party Superstore at Clapham Junction has everything you could want.
