Why is celebrities getting away having sex with teenagers?

Gene Simmons is one of many examples, he says he would kill pedophiles, while he has had sex with many 16 year old girls. He even wrote a song about his desires, Christine Sixteen. In Swedish newspapers in 1997 it was written about Kiss having sex with 16 year old girls. Many celebrities are having sex with teenagers, and nobody does anything about it?!

16 is the age of consent. So what do you suggest could be done about it?

The law makes no distinction between two 16 year olds having sex and a 50 year old having sex with a 16 year old, as long as there was consent.

There are plenty of 16 year olds out there who will consent to sex with a much older celebrity. Whether they regret it later is a different question.
