6 months TTC and struggling

Hi everyone!!

This is my first post in here after reading others posts for a while. My husband and I have been TTC for 6 months now with no luck. I am absolutely convinced there is something wrong. Every month I think I feel different and I'm pregnant but I'm not. I have the apps and ovulation sticks so know we are doing things at the right time. Any advice?

Sorry, I don’t know why my post says Conception twice.

TTC taking up to 12 months is very normal. Past that you might want to look at fertility testing but lots of people need 9,10, 11 months to conceive.

Great advice from Meg. Unless you’re over 35, I wouldn’t just assume there’s something wrong. It sounds perfectly normal for you to take 12 months plus for the first Thanks

Have you found the Conception Conception Section yet? That might be helpful.

Don’t watch ovulation just have sex and enjoy!
Baby will come when ready!
There is a reason for everything!
I chose this method and it wasn’t as disappointing as it could have been!
We decided the no contraception but not trying and this helped tremendously.
I didn’t believe I was pregnant for ages and realised I was at 10 weeks! Xxxxxx

I’ve struggled in the past and other times it’s been easier (been of 5 times). My best advice is to stop trying over Christmas. Don’t use any contraception but enjoy the break without any pressure.

Have a drink or two, relax, have late nights out together, meet friends, have lazy mornings together. Just put your life on hold for a few days and enjoy being with your DH without thinking about conception. Then after having at least a month of doing this, you can go back to it but you’ll both feel much more relaxed and will have had a great Christmas and New Year Thanks

There are many things that can effect conception. You need to make sure you have a good balanced diet, with plenty of exercise. There are foods out there that are said to help conception (not sure what these are though), and there are vitamins that help conception as well. Make sure you're having sex regularly. Having sex too much can mean that your partner doesn't produce enough 'good' sperm, it's recommended to do it once every two days. Ovulation tests can be wrong so they're not 100% reliable. Normal fertile couples can take over a year to conceive. If you are worried then go to the gp. Good luck Thanks
