Help for the cut 'n' shut physique, please

For a change I'd quite like to wear a dress instead of trousers, trousers, jeans and, er, trousers but Boden, etc, are cut far too high in the waist for me. I'm 5' 8", and could charitably be described as having an athletic physique, if 'athletic' meant swimmer's long torso and broad shoulders attached to footballer's legs.
Anyone out there know of brands that have a bit of give in the body? I'd be grateful.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll investigate. And this probably should be moved to the style and beauty section.

Topshop has tall section, maybe you'll find something there

Maybe ask MN to move this to style and beauty as you’ll get more of a response there I imagine.

My friend is similar and wears ones from apricot at Dorothy Perkins, long tall sally and Debenhams (but I don’t know who there).

Thanks, Itsonkyme. Yes, thank matching skirts and tops seem to be the answer when you defy the national stereo-type and are more of a parsnip than a pear-shape. There's just something about the ease of putting on one garment, rather than faffing with separates, that appeals to me. Someone else has suggested Long Tall Sally, so I'll give the brand a look. (Though I'm not sure 5' 8 qualifies me as particularly long.)

I'm quite athletic and tall like you. I have NEVER found a dress to fit me properly. My top half anyway is a size bigger than my hips. The waists on dresses are always too high, so I end up with the waist on my midriff and the hips just below my waist. Not a good look!!
If you want to get your legs out, try skirts and tops! Depending on the look you're going for, straight skirts of any length look good. With a sexy, low cut top and belt or daytime a sexy blouse, (top buttons undone to where ever you're comfortable with.
Hope I've been a bit of help to you!
