Mumsnet and Gingerbread want to find out more about parents' thoughts about child maintenance payments.

This survey is open to all in England, Wales and Scotland who have at least one child.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where 1 respondent will win a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Click here to complete the survey

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw

For anyone else who's unsure whether they use direct pay or collect and pay:

There are two ways to arrange payment to the parent who gets maintenance. You can have the money paid to you directly from the other parent. This is called the Direct Pay scheme. Or you can ask the CMS to collect the payments from the other parent and then pay you through the Collect & Pay service.

Im sure this survey would get way more views if the title said it was about child maintenance.

Do you have to be in that situation to complete the survey too?

@AudTheDeepMinded we're looking for responses from all parents - you should be shown the questions relevant to you based on previous answers (though if that's not the case, please let us know!)

I wanted to make a comment which requires a text box that isn’t there.

I feel like non payment is much more of an issue with wealthier parents.
The very small amounts that are deducted from nmw workers and benefit claimants seems to prove a point rather than to make a significant material difference to children’s lives.

It really feels injust, however when wealthy parents hide assets to avoid their responsibilities.

Q9 - doesn't say whether it's in the space of x months or in total. If it's in total then the answers will vary a huge amount because it could be from 1-18 years

Done. Never experienced it on a personal level but I feel very strongly about it after watching many friends/family struggle to get any type of payments from the absent parent.
