Mumsnet are working with Waitrose to produce a six-episode web TV series that will launch in September and they want your feedback to help shape this episode on cooking for the family and reviving the lost art of baking.

Do you have a secret family recipe that has been handed down through generations? Or a school cake sale/kids' birthday party no-brainer?

Whether you're offering advice or looking for it, please post here and we'll try and take the best tips and questions and build some of them in to the microsite where the web TV series is going to be shown.

Everyone who takes part in this or any of the Waitrose threads will be entered into a draw to win £100 of Waitrose vouchers.

And if you want to star in the web series, you can find out more and volunteer here

My question is...

I love cakes and bicuits (hence the baker's tummy), but i'd love to have a lot of yummy recipes which are tasty and easy to make but not expensive and full of fat and sugar.

Is this possible? Must include at least 2 chocolate recipes and not just cheat and use artificial sweeteners.

I find sponge cakes cooked in electric ovens can be moister if you place a tray of water at the bottom of the oven.

Using a tin with the correct dimensions is key unless you're a super cook who can do all sorts of jiggery pokery with the temperature and cooking time.

If it's too big the cake will cook too quickly and if it's to small the cake will be too deep and take too long to cook.

easiest cake recipe ever:

weigh some eggs
use same amounts of sugar flour and butter
add flavourings. (old bananas work well)

bung it in the oven til it's done.
