F&F has asked us to find 100 MNers to test out their F&F schoolwear range with their DC and provide feedback.

We're looking for UK Mumsnetters, who have at least one child of school age who wears school uniform, to put the range to the test before the new term starts. If you are selected, you will be sent £100 worth of Tesco online vouchers*. We'd like you to use some of this to buy items from the F&F back to school range and the rest is a gift for you from F&F to treat yourself to some new items for the school run!

Delivery charges aren't included in the e-coupons, however there is the option to 'Click and Collect' which delivers your order to your nearby Tesco, free of charge, by the next day if you place your order by 3pm. We are aware that the summer holidays are fast approaching so we're looking for Mumsnetters who are available to carry out this product test as soon as possible.

Once you have had a chance to purchase a few items and kit your DCs out in a new uniform we'll ask you to get your LOs to put it through its paces and for you to give it a couple of washes before adding your feedback to a thread on MN.

First day of wearing Dd schoolwear today as she was off yesterday, i washed it all before she wore it and it all washed lovely!

Short sleeved shirts washed lovely they were still soft and looked new after washing & ironing

Skirts (we bought 5) washed & ironed well

Socks are still bright white for now but i will see how they look after a day of suntan lotion, mud, sand & water play!!!

She looks very smart in her new short sleeved shirts, skirt and white sock

First day of wearing shorts, short-sleeved shirts and socks. All have been washed yesterday evening and this morning.

Shorts were fine, but I'm glad I ordered the smaller of the sizes I was dithering over or they'd have been like something from It Ain't Half Hot, Mum! There is a polyester sheen to the fabric which I'm not keen on, it gives them a cheap look which I haven't found in the shorts they've worn previously (M&S cheap polyester jobs!).

Shirts were also fine, although thinner and rougher than their other shirts (M&S easy iron). Good value for money though as they are cheaper than the last M&S ones I bought.

Socks are excellent and don't seem to have shrunk up in the wash, so I didn't have to stretch them back into shape as I have with their usual school socks.

Ds is kitted out in shorts today. He probably could have done with a size smaller but 3-4 was as small as I could get. The elastic adjuster has been pulled in as tight as it would go and my only concern is that it's quite thin elastic and I'm not convinced it will last long. Especially with a rough and tumble boy causing even more tension when it is stretched to the max.

Dd is thrilled with her shoes because they have flowers on them! She is measured as a clarks 11g and there is plenty of growing room in these. They are perhaps a little wide but this may just be dd as I feel she has quite narrow but deep feet. There is a generous depth to the shoes which I've not found in many cheaper shoes and this can only be a good thing in the long run. Time will tell whether leather coated plastic will still look as good at home time. Especially with a girl who loves to kneel, climb and generally drag her feet around.

I will be picking up more uniform for dd later today and some polo shirts for ds.

oh dear - navy hoody managed to bleed colour in the wash quite badly. And managed to mark/ stain 2 synthetic fabric multi colour cycle jerseys ( which I didn't expect to pick up any colour so lobbed in the wash witha dark load)

Polo shirts, trousers and socks have been washed, dried and ironed.

Boys grey extra length trousers washed well, look like new, barely needed ironing. Would recommend and buy again.

Socks have washed well, do smell fresh have a decent amount of elasticity through them so for plain grey school scocks you can't go wrong.

Polos the multipack ones have washed well.

The value one that looked so good out of the packet is probably a throw away job.

Both boys polos experienced berry smoothie and wheetabix breakfast. The multipack one showed no evidence of this after a 60 wash.

The value one has had two 60 washes, a mild bleach spray then rince, bleach left on it for half an hour then hand washed.

Its not come properly clean. Deffinately not worth the saving. It looked the same out the packet but when wet you can really feel that its significantly thinner and lower quality.

Not quite sure whether in the interests of the trial we should try another of the value ones or just chalk their purchase down to experience.

first day of wear today...

Both dd's had trousers, dd1 also the embroidered shirt. Quite glad I went down a size, I remembered just before I finished the order that the sizing can be generous. I'm actually quite impressed that there was less bulk around their bums than I'd expected after pulling the waist in to fit as both, esp dd1 are skinny things. dd1 had the teflon coated ones, dd2 the plaited waist and the teflon ones, and you can feel the difference in the material. It'll be interesting to see how the two fabrics wear as time goes by. The shirt was a nice fit, tidy finishing, and she's really pleased with the girly touches. That's a hit. The washing will be the thing for those, to see how the seams wear.
Tomorrow dd1 will be in the pencil skirt. I was disappointed with the range of skirts, as nearly all of them had pleats in some form, which are a pin to iron, and can look naff once the waist has been pulled in by 4-5 inches! dd2 likes girly swirly skirts and wouldn't choose any.

Ds was in the basic school trousers. I went for the smaller size, eg 8-9 again. These are a good fit, although baggy round the bum with massive loops which I have done over the button several times. I may try the smaller size & long leg, but it's tricky without any inside leg measurements- Tesco, please take note!

Dss has been trialling the cotton v-neck. It seems to have spent the day at the bottom of his backpack! It has survived the experience, and will have all crumbs and grot washed off. I'm interested to see how this compares to his current M&S ones which shrink over time. He is also in the shorts. I've got the largest size possible, but they're still a bit snug around his round bottom (Dss stout and muscular, with short legs) and long for his little legs! they have survived milk, football, trampolining and other boy antics.

Next challenge- laundry!

We kept some back to get ds a winter coat once they come in, as he destroys those and shoes!

DDs 1&2 wore their skirts to school today. They both took them off tonight, looking pritsine despite having rolled around in sand and mud.

The polo shirt was pretty clean, considering the mud rolling, too.

1st day of wear for new shorts and shirt- the boy came home covered in chalk and added chocolate sauce at tea time.


Navy Hoody has been washed and line dried in full sun. Still navy and still fits.

Just taken delivery of my first few bits. The first thing that has struck me is the sizing discrepancy on the cardigans. I ordered 2 5-6 and 2 6-7. One of my 6-7 ones has shorter arms than both the other 6-7 and one of the 5-6's. One 5-6 has longer arms than all the others! These have been held seam to seam to double check I'm not imagining it.

The trousers/shorts and skirts feel quite substantial. I've ordered short leg trousers for my midget son so will see how he gets on with those later. Bit warm for actually wearing them at the minute but he'll certainly put the shorts through their paces. Especially when it comes to wet and dirt.

School kit collected from store, once DH worked out where he needed to collect from ( not thr big signposted click n collect place, but some where in store so he had to park the bike and GO INTO A SHOP which he hates doing ).

DS has now tried it on and teh fit is reasonable. I was right to order a size up for long sleeve things, they fit perfectly. Trousers I ordered the " rigt age " size and they are OK on length as I thought they would be, width is bit more variable. Those with adjustable elastic are fine, those with belt loops need quite a bit of cinching in or braces.

Parcel arrived yesterday, minus one pair of shorts (not school ones), however they arrived this morning after calling customer services yesterday.

Everything fits. Ds (12) is tall but skinny, found the 13-14 trousers long enough and fine at the waist once adjusted. 13-14 shirts/tops all good in size too.

Overall very impressed so far.

I found the website easy as well, once I slowed down and concentrated. The stuff came super quickly, too. I didn't have anything cancelled. DS wore his things Thursday and Friday, and I have wadhed and hung them out to dry!

I had to return a coat - it was 9-10 but tiny! All the other things seems fin - dd wore her pinafore yesterday and loved it!

My order arrived today, it was all there, no problems. Some of the dresses do look big, I may put them away for September when they should fit and just road test the summer dresses, skirts and shirts which seem to be the a better size.

Yes, I took them back with the note and she just gave me the money - which surprised me as I expected a voucher back! (I wanted a corrie name and was inspired one night )

DS tried his shorts today, they are darker coloured than I expected (grey, but more of a black-grey than most ones I've seen) but seem like quite good quality fabric and fitted him well once I adjusted the waist a bit. He's not very big on answering questions but said they were "nice, and comfy" so that's high praise from him!
