Dettol has asked us to find 100 Mumsnetters to give their No-Touch Hand Wash System a try. Here's what Dettol say about it: "The Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System is a great way to ensure kids adopt a healthy routine when it comes to washing their hands, whilst also making it fun to do. As hands come into contact with millions of germs every day, the automatic system can help break the chain of infection, stopping the spread of bacteria around the home. After sensing your hands, the Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System dispenses just the right amount of soap, killing 99.9% of bacteria."

Dettol want to get feedback on what you and your child(ren) think of the system so this is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child who is old enough to be able to let you know what they think of the product! Smile

If you are selected to take part, you'll be sent a Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System dispensing base (250ml), one refill (250ml) and 4 AA batteries (RRP £9.99). You'll then need to use the system for a week or so and then add your (and your child(ren)'s) feedback to the thread.

Everyone who is part of the test and who adds feedback to the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky winner will get a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

If you would like to take part in this project please add your details here.

Many thanks
MNHQ

Ann, I have emailed you - as I didn't receive the email or it went into my junk mail.

We like the product and my little boy loves it, however, have noticed the amount of soap has gone down too quickly !!! He keeps finding excuses to wash his hands !!! Also they do need to adjust the soap that is dispensed !!! I have a little 2 year old who tried the soap dispenser yesterday and found that we had to rinse her hands loads of time.

We're enjoying ours too and love the smell of the cucumber one. Wish I could adjust the amount of soap dispensed though as it's enough to wash the whole of my 2 year old (I know as she tried...) Smile
Have I missed the thread for reviewing it?

or even Shock!

I saw the refills in Boots yesterday, have never clocked the price before but at over £3 a refill I was quite [shocked]

Having said that, we are really loving using these

Got mine now! Pretty cool. Will hold off review, but first impressions: If they could reduce the price of refills, this is something I'd love in the house. Soap bars gross me out, and I love a gadget. Stainless steel great for kitchen.

I got mine this morning, the white one (cucumber) is downstairs in the kitchen and the silver one (aloe vera I think) upstairs in the bathroom. DS has had a really long nap today so i've not had a chance to show him them yet but he is going to love them! I wasn't expecting two and can't believe it cost over £4 to send them but i'm very chuffed to have them!

If you've had a pack for this but no email would you mind emailing [email protected] and maybe adding the address to your safe senders list? Or check your junk mail folders?

poppy - you will of course be able to keep it after the testing. We will be emailing you a link to the feedback thread in due course. Enjoy Grin

Do be careful people when you are cleaning! Remember not to put your cloth or hands near the dispenser!

Hi I received two this morning a silver one and a white one. Wasn't expecting it, so a really nice surprise. I didn't receive an email but found them on the door step this morning.

Can I just ask ? are we allowed to keep them after the testing ??? Not quite sure ?? and do we reply back to Mumsnet with comments or to the company via their email. Again not quite sure ?

Thank you Mumsnet for including me in the trial.

My 11 year old and I LOVE these dispensers, and the soaps smell really good too. Handwashing just got a lot more popular in our house!!

We did manage not to read the instructions and moved the dispensers around whilst switched on so had soap happily autodispensing onto the floor...

bosch I also think the refills are abit expensive and thats what put me off buying one when they were first launch and I too have wondered about finding a way of refilling them with cheaper soap, although having said that I do really like the aloe vera one.

My hope of getting DC to remember to wash their hands after the toilet has also been realised, even to the point that DS now will go to the toilet and try and squeeze a dribble out just so he can say "i touched my willy so i need to wash my hands" Grin not entirely a bad thing as it seems to also be encouraging him to go to the toilet more often so we aren't getting as many leaks in his undies (he's a bit of a lazy toilet goer)

Mine arrived today - both of them, a pleasant surprise as I was only expecting one.

So far they have seemed a bit temperamental but that might just be the ds's mucking about with the switch. Ds's are v interested so my original hope that it would help them to remember to wash their hands after toilet might be realised.

Have already worked out that the mark up on the refills is a bit eye-watering. Dh working out how to drill a hole in the top of the soap insert, so you can refill with whatever soap is on offer. Not exactly in the spirit of 'killing 99% of all known germs' but we have a dog and three children in this house so nothing is ever really all that clean Grin

Mine arrived today. The dc's were very excited.

They are both really good hand washers already, but I am hoping we might use less soap this way.

My ds (9) is already thinking of his feedback.

I got mine today too, i have to say i was quite surprised (and pleased) to get one of each colour, as now i have one in the kitchen and one upstairs. I do agree with the comments about not really needing them as you wash your hands after you've touched the pump but i am hoping they will create less mess and encorage DC to actually was their hands when asked rather than just say they have when they haven't.

DD (3) was very excited when they arrived this morning and couldn't wait to unpack them. When i showed her how to use it and explained that it was not a toy and you only use it ONCE, she said "thats coool, mum" Smile

When DS (5) got shown after school and also got explained to that it is not a toy etc he said "awesome", so here's hoping my plan works, oh and also that i get less mess in my sink

So far i really like the smell and feel of the aloe vera one and it doesn't seem to dry my hands as much as normal soap does

I know you don't want feedback for a week or so, but just set up the cucumber one in the downstairs loo and explained it to DS (7). He tried it and said "Way cool!" Hmm "I'm going in the garden to get my hands as dirty as possible. That'll make it go MAD."
