To celebrate the launch of Mumsnet's new-look food and recipe section we've invited some very special guests to come and join us for webchats to chat about food. And with Christmas just round the corner, they'll be on-hand to help you prepare a feast to remember for Christmas 2013.

We're delighted that LORRAINE PASCALE is kicking off our series of foody chats and is joining us tomorrow (Thursday 28 November) evening between 9 and 10pm.

Other guests will be Natalie Coleman (Monday 2 December, 1-2pm) and James Martin on Friday 6 December (1.45-2.45pm).

Lorraine last joined us at Mumsnet in September 2012 when she told us about how she started out, baking with her daughter and the secret behind cooking and maintaining a whiter than white T-Shirt whilst at the stove. This time she's going to be telling us about her latest book A Lighter Way To Bake and answering your questions about cooking and baking for Christmas.

Join Lorraine tomorrow between 9 and 10pm or post a question to her in advance. Everyone who joins the webchat will be entered into a draw to win one of three copies of A Lighter Way to Bake.

@RachelMumsnet

Thanks Lorraine, it's been great once again. Good luck with all your ventures in the new year and do let us know when the documentary on fostering is going to be aired. It feels a bit early to say Happy Christmas but we do hope you have a good 'un. Thanks to everyone who joined the webchat tonight.

The names have been drawn out of a hat and we're happy to reveal the winners of Lorraine's latest book Lighter Way to Bake are....NumTumRedRum, Parsnipcake and ghmummy. Congratulations ! We'll pm you with details.

Thank you very much for having me at Mumsnet albeit remotely! It was great chatting to everyone and I hope that people gained some useful tips. Happy Christmas to you also and congratulations to the book winner. LP :-)

@mum2jakie

No questions but just wanted to let you know how much my sons (ages 11 and 6) enjoy your cookery programmes. (I think they want to be adopted by you!)

We even attempted your version of tikka masala and it turned out to be perfectly edible and enjoyed by all my picky eaters so thank you very much!

I'd also be interested in your involvement with the Trussel trust (something I access on a professional basis) and am curious about the reasons that led to that? I think you are also a patron for TACT fostering?

Thank you for your comments about the cookery show, I am really glad that your sons like it. The trussel trust was something which is close to my heart due to my past, so it was good to get involved. And TACT is a matter close to my heart also from childhood :-)

Woohoo! Thank you, I shall tell DH that you think it's good to keep my rolling pin in the fridge, and thus shall withhold mince pies.

Thank you for answering my question about the melted sweet biscuits; I will look out for it on your website nearer Christmas. Then my son and husband can do their annual turn the kitchen into a tip male bonding baking!

Sounds perfect :-)

@RachelMumsnet

Can we ask a couple of questions from Mumsnet HQ: Firstly what's your favourite fail-safe dish that cook for friends and family? And secondly your favourite bedtime story (a bit of a departure I know but it's something we ask all our guests) and finally (you may have answered this last time but it could have changed... your favourite biscuit?

  1. Favourite family dish is baked lentil and bean cottage pie- which is in my newest book a lighter way to bake (shameless plug there mumsnetters, forgive me)
  2. Favourite bedtime story is Cinderalla
  3. Favourite biscuit is a chocolate digestive...

:-)

@Calypso2

Thanks for answering my question. I'll definitely give the gravy a go. I've got your book Home Cooking Made Easy. Can you tell me about the latest book. I'm presuming it's all low fat recipes? Can it be used for families as well? What are your favourite recipes in the new book?

You are welcome. The new book is called a lighter way to bake and it is for families for sure. Some recipes have reduced fat and some have reduced sugar and increased fibre. There are both sweet baking recipes in there and some savoury ones also, so lots of meals for making for when the children come home from school. I hope this helps.

Lorraine you are my current girl crush Blush

It's my DH's birthday on Saturday. I'd love to make him something impressive but easy (I can make basic stuff but mostly puddings and muffiny things, all very forgiving). Any suggestions?

HI Lorraine
Love your recipes finally someone's recipes who actually turn out the same as the book I love them. Also when are you coming to Western Australia?
We would love to have you over here. :)

I am glad the recipes are working out well for you! I almost moved to Western Australia when I was younger! I love love love Australia. Some of my friends call me an honorary Aussie as I am there so much. I would love to come to WA at some point. I know it is so beautiful over there. You are so lucky to live there :-)

Hi Lorraine, I love your recipes, they all work beautifully. I even tried the chorizo fougasse ... and it worked! What's your tip for lightening mince pies? I love them but they are high in fat and sugar. Thanks in advance!

Thank you. I have a recipe in my new book a lighter way to bake which is for mince pies but I use filo pastry and lots of fresh fruit in place of some of the dried fruit. I hope that helps.

Omg!!
Lorraine I absolutely love you!as does my Dh,for the simple reason that everything I cook from your book 'home cooking made easy' actually works!
I'm not the best cook at all,but the recipes are easy to follow and I haven't yet had anything that hasnt come out less than perfect.
Im actually going to make your chicken teriyaki dish in about 10mins,made it last week for the first time-massive hit,dh said it was better than a takeaway-praise indeed.
Also made your raspberry muffins yesterday which are amazing and dh took one to work today and text me saying people had 'muffin envy'
Sorry having really got a question just your book has made cooking and baking so enjoyable for me so Thankyou sooooo much!!

And thank you for your lovely lovely comments. Happy cooking
