Lessening/ fluctuating symptoms with twin pregnancy

Hi all!
I have a little boy who is 11 months old and found out I’m now pregnant with twins.

So I took a pregnancy test it was a super faint positive but clearly a positive, then another a day later and it was more faint then negative the next day, I thought another chemical pregnancy as I’ve had 5 miscarriages total, all of which I never had any pregnancy symptoms for and never made it past 8 weeks.

Left it and carried on, 2 weeks passed and I didn’t get my period so I took another test, very strong positive.
we were so happy and carried on, booked an early scan for when I thought I was roughly 8 weeks, the week before I was getting quite bad cramps and lower back cramps so I called the EPU and they got me in for a scan the next day (given my history of miscarriages).
Went in prepping for the worst, she said she could see a pregnancy over the tummy but wanted to do an internal scan just to check, this is when she confirmed a heartbeat, we were so relieved, and then directly after said there was another heartbeat! We were in shock! But so happy!
She also said I only looked to be 5 weeks 2 days! I was surprised as that didn’t line up with my dates at all! I thought I was roughly about 7 weeks at this point.

This seems very early to see a heartbeat and to see it over the tummy? In the past they only detected heartbeats for me at around 6-7 weeks. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Also in my appointment directly after the scan when I spoke to a nurse, I asked if everything looked normal, she said yes and checked the notes from the scan and said there was also a small subchorionic hematoma by the one baby. She didn’t seem worried about it at all and said it can be normal.
Im assuming it’s nothing to worry about if the sonographer didn’t mention it and I’ve so far had no bleeding at all?

Ive had severe morning sickness all day! Vomiting multiple times a day and all food making me feel sick! Smells bothering me so much, sore nipples not the whole breast (could be because I’m still breastfeeding?)
diarrhea right in the beginning before I knew it was twins and just intense exhaustion.
As hard as it’s been it was all very reassuring for me as like I said , I never had symptoms with any of my miscarriages, only with my son’s pregnancy.

Then about 2 days ago I started feeling better, nausea has subsided and I actually managed to eat and feeling a bit less tired. Now the nausea isn’t completely gone but it isn’t constant any more and normally out of random I gag and run to the loo and then will be fine for a few hours,
smells still really bother me.

I can’t help but stress that something has happened or maybe lost the one twin and that’s why symptoms have lessened. I also get cramps or twinges (quite sharp) quite often on and off.
I know symptoms can come and go and I still feel positive about this pregnancy but I don’t know what to expect with a twin pregnancy! It has felt so different to my first.

Some reassurance would be great and to hear from women who have possibly had a similar experience with a twin pregnancy. Just to get me through this week till I have my next scan with the hospital this Friday. The days feel so long!

Also just to add, I’m currently 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and my scan with the hospital was a week ago and the next one with them is Friday, so in 6 days.

No advice sorry but I'm going through exactly the same thing. I should be 9 weeks, had severe symptoms from 5-7 weeks and had scan at 7 weeks showing twin pregnancy. Since then feeling better with basically no symptoms.
I'm seeing my midwife for the first time Friday so going to ask if I can arrange another early scan.
Hopefuly someone will comment with experience!

Hello. Also no advice unfortunately but I am also in the same position. Should be 6w2d. Had a scan at 5.5 weeks showing twins/heartbeats and had vomiting/nausea and tiredness in week 5. Now feel almost back to normal and feel I should feel worse with twins! Next scan not for another 10 days. Good luck with your scan on Friday. Hard to wait but that is the only thing that will give reassurance. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

I just wondered if everything was ok in the end as I am experiencing something similar at the moment with morning sickness easing at 7 weeks

Hello.
yes it was ok in the end. I actually had a very high hcg and had 4 sacs at the time that I wrote that post with 4 heartbeats. The pregnancy naturally reduced to two babies and I had twin girls delivered by c section at 32 weeks. I was taking steroids in my first trimester so they may have reduced my pregnancy symptoms.
